New Schedule Put in Place to Kick Off the 55th Season at Grandview

BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 24, 2017 — Despite all the efforts being made to be able to get the 2017 season started with a free-to-the-public practice session at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, Ma Nature has helped create different plans.

“Practice is postponed for tomorrow, due to wet grounds, and the forecast of more rain this afternoon,” said track spokesperson Tina Rogers. “We do not want to take the chance of having drivers ruin their equipment, for a track that cannot be prepared properly.

“We have been monitoring the grounds, and track conditions all week. We were hoping we could get on the track and prepare a good racing surface, however with not much sun, and the melting snow, it has left us with unraceable conditions and grounds.”

Jeff Strunk Wins Sixth Freedom 76 Modified Classic at Grandview Speedway

Jeff Strunk Earns in Excess of $25,000 for his Sixth Freedom 76 Victory at Grandview Speedway

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. September 11, 2016 . . . Jeff Strunk, “the Bechtelsville Bullet,” had been having a rather mediocre season, at least by his usually high standards, at Grandview Speedway behind the wheel of the Glenn Hyneman owned No. 126 Modified. Saturday night the ten-time NASCAR track point champion rectified the 2016 campaign by pulling off his biggest win of the year  the Freedom 76-Lap Modified Classic event for a hefty payday of $25,000 plus. He racked up a sizeable amount in lap money, the $100 half-way leader money from Area Auto Racing News and the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie award.

Strunk didn’t have an easy time in claiming his sixth win in the event, his last being in 2013, as he first dueled with Ryan Watt, who he lost the lead to earlier and then had to thwart off the challenges of second-place finisher and defending race winner Craig VonDohren.

Following the five qualifying heats won by Dan Bouc, Jared Umbenhauer, Bobby Varin, Rick Laubach, also the winner of the $1,000 Cash Dash, and David VanHorn plus the Schaeffer Motorsports Minuteman 20 captured by Kyle Borror the 32-car starting field was set for the main event – the 46th Annual Freedom 76.

The caution riddled 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature winner for the third time was Paul Kline as time ran short for runner-up Craig Whitmoyer to catch him. It was the seventh time he claimed victory in the event. VonDohren may have had a comfortable margin over runner-up Mike Gular, but his fourth feature win of the season didn’t come easy for the defending point champion, since he had to deal with heavy lapped traffic on numerous occasions. In addition to the $10,000 top prize, he also pocketed $250 in bonus bucks from T.P. Trailers plus $150 in product contingency awards from VP Fuels for running gas along with the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie award. The racing activities were sponsored by Pioneer Pole Building and the 46th running of the event was in honor of race founder Forrest Rogers, the late father of current promoter and track owner Bruce Rogers.

Dylan Swinehart, a rookie this season in the Sportsman division and also a third generation of racing Swinehart’s – his grandfather Ray, uncle Steve and now himself, became the tenth different winner when he scored his first 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature career win by defeating Ryan Higgs. Swinehart also has another famous racing grandfather ‑ Dennis Bailey. Both Ray and Dennis were previous point champions. Throughout the season the youngster has endured so many obstacles and he finally was glad to get the monkey off his back. Last week he had failed to qualify for the race. He also picked up an additional $100 from T.P. Trailers and the ½-way Dan’s Deli hoagie award.

In BRC Late Model action Ron Kline overtook leader Brian Shuey on the 19th lap and went on to claim back to back feature wins in the 25-Lap race. T.P. Trailers also awarded him $100.

Paul Kline Wins 40-lap Summer Splash Sportsman Feature, Schutz Gets His Second BRC Late Model Win of the Season and Jeff Strunk Becomes a First-Time Winner this Season at Grandview In TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified Feature All Part of Bashore Trucking/BFPSpecialties Night

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. June 19, 2016 — When Paul “The Dude” Kline finally wins a NASCAR Sportsman feature at Grandview Speedway, he picks a big payday since it was the Summer Splash 40-lap feature sponsored by Bashore Trucking/BFP Specialty that was worth #$1,500 plus $100 from T.P. Trailers, Limerick.

Kline, the eighth different winner in the division, started his season late and it wasn’t easy since he experienced carburetor problems and other issues and since the crew just consists of himself and his wife Jenifer, that makes it even more challenging. He inherited the lead when race leader Kenny Bock spun between turns and four which brought out the red for a blocked track since several other cars tangled behind him on lap four.

Since numerous restarts were needed in the early stages, after six laps all restarts went single-file. Kline held off numerous challenges with current point leader Jordan Henn all over him with five laps remaining. Kline hung on to capture the victory.

NASCAR Stock Car Racing Features at Grandview Go to Howard, Shuey and Henn on Saturday Night

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. May 1, 2016 . . . Racing action was fan-pleasing wild and furious at the “fast” 1/3-mile high banks of Grandview Speedway on Saturday night.

Duane Howard survived the numerous skirmishes to become the first repeat winner in the T.P. Cozze, Schutz, Lisowski, Peck and Smith Garnish Feature Victories at Grandview Saturday Night

Five New 2016 Feature Winners at Grandview Speedway on Saturday Night

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. April 24, 2016 – Nine features have been run at Grandview Speedway since the 2016 April opener and thus far it has produced nine different winners in the three regularly scheduled NASCAR divisions.

Frank Cozze, in his second season behind the wheel of the Tom Umbenhauer-owned/Harry’s U-Pull It sponsored mount now sporting the No. 4, was MIA last week attending his daughter’s wedding. He returned this week and started the evening off right by winning the second heat. He then led the T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series 30-Lap feature from start to finish and one-hour prior to winning the event he learned his son and daughter-in-law made him a grandfather. The 60-year old Wind Gap veteran, who hasn’t won since July 2013, didn’t have an easy task in scoring his second Grandview victory. He dealt with lapped cars, three-wide racing with Kenny Gilmore and eventual runner-up Rick Laubach. “The track was tricky tonight because it was slippery and I didn’t want to make any stupid mistakes with the lap cars commented the elated winner and this win really helped the team.”

Defending late model champion Chuck Schutz and the Ty Zeigler-owned team really worked hard the past week to repair the No. ONE car that suffered significant damage the week before in the feature and arrived late to the track as they were putting the finishing touches on the car. Things finally went better for the seven-time champ as he turned crash into cash this week to score his first win of the season in the BRC NASCAR 25-Lap Late Model feature. He couldn’t thank everyone enough for all their efforts.
