TULSA, Okla. (September 28, 2017) One of the fastest ovals in the Midwest is on deck for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network and the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series with the $5,000 to win, $500 to start Casey’s Midwest Fall Brawl on Saturday, September 30.

On top of the $5,000 winner’s check, Searsboro Telephone, Co. will also dole out $1,000 to the night’s Hard Charger, who did not use a Provisional. Another $300 will be given out as well in the podium draw.

Courtney Connects on First USAC National Midget Win in Montpelier Indiana Midget Week Opener

Montpelier, Indiana………Just four nights ago, Tyler Courtney had yet to break into the win column in USAC competition for 2017.

A mere four nights later, the Indianapolis, Indiana native is two victories richer following last Friday night’s USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car score at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska, before the latest triumph – his very first USAC National Midget points-paying victory – in Tuesday’s opener for the 13th installment of Indiana Midget Week at Montpelier Motor Speedway.

The 23-year-old driver used the bottom to slip past Alex Bright for the lead on the fifth lap, then immediately fended off a slider thrown by hard-charging Brady Bacon. Courtney then mastered a late-race restart to drive away for a commanding win to become the first driver ever to earn both his first USAC National Midget and National Sprint Car wins in Indiana Midget Week and Indiana Sprint Week.

Courtney Cashes in at Malvern Bank I-80 Dirt Classic

Greenwood, Nebraska………Tyler Courtney withstood a relentless Chris Windom assault during the final two laps of Friday night’s Malvern Bank “I-80 Dirt Classic” to earn his second career USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car victory in the series’ inaugural appearance at I-80 Speedway.

Windom was on point for the first two-thirds of the 30-lapper, but Courtney used a lap 20 turn one slider to rip by the defending Silver Crown champ for the race lead, then took Windom’s repetitious haymakers in stride down the stretch, answering each successive punch with a knockout blow of his own.

Running along the razor’s edge requires a certain finesse to reach maximum success. On this night, Courtney had to juggle patience and urgency. The Indianapolis, Indiana native had to start seventh, but Courtney anticipated the track taking rubber and felt he had to get up on the wheel of his TOPP Motorsports/TOPP Performance Race Parts – Custom Pump & Controls/Maxim/Claxton and bring it to the front as soon as the green dropped. Yet, the dilemma in a 30-lap sprint is that running too hard can create significant tire wear, making a hard-charging effort all for naught.

I-80 and Knoxville Up Next as USAC National Sprints Aim for the Heartland

Through the mazes of farmland in America’s heartland, racetracks spring up out of the soil as if they were auto racing’s version of the field of dreams.
If you build it, the racers will come. From far and wide and everywhere in-between.
That they will this weekend when the racing heroes of today embark on a journey to Mid-America to showcase what USAC’s brand of racing is all about. No wings. Just ruts, guts and the glory that lies 30 laps ahead.

It’s Fall Brawl Weekend for the Lucas Oil ASCS at I-80 Speedway

TULSA, Okla. (September 28, 2016) Just off the Hockett/McMillin Memorial, another big night of racing is on tap for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network as the series heads for the world famous high-banks of the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. on Saturday, October 1 for the $6,000 to win Casey’s General Store Fall Brawl.

A look at the history of the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network at I-80 Speedway finds 14 previous A-Features since 1996. In last year’s edition, double features were contested as rain shortened the two day affair to a single night race. Justin Henderson and Billy Alley each garnered victories.
Utilizing the a unique format used at I-80 Speedway’s Silver Dollar Nationals, the format was explained by I-80 Speedway staff:

“The event will also have a unique format that has been very successful at I-80’s Silver Dollar Nationals. Each driver will run two heat races. The first heat will be lined up by the draw and the next heat that a driver is in, they will start exactly opposite of how they started their first heat (Example: If you start your first heat on the pole, you will start your second heat dead last). The top 16 in passing points from the double heats will qualify for the A Feature. 7th thru 16th will then run a six-lap position race with the top 4 to join the top six qualifiers in a fast dash. The finish of the fast dash will set the top ten spots in the feature. The position race will determine starting positions 11 through 16 in the feature.”

Justin Henderson and Billy Alley Claim Victories in Fall Brawl 4

GREENWOOD, Neb. (September 19, 2015) After Mother Nature reduced the fourth annual Casey’s General Store ASCS Midwest Fall Brawl presented by Just 1 More Promotions, twin A-Features on Saturday at the I-80 Speedway were split between South Dakota’s Justin Henderson and Nebraska’s Billy Alley.

Two attempts on the start in the opening A-Feature after Brian Brown flipped on the first attempt, Henderson jumped ahead of Matt Covington who was left to battle with Aaron Reutzel who worked by just prior to the caution on Lap 5.

Watching as Henderson sped away, Aaron’s chance would come in the race’s midpoint as traffic brought the No. 1 to his front bumper. Exchanging wicked slide jobs at both ends of the I-80 Speedway, the B.C. Fundz No. 87 finally gained the advantage on Lap 17.

Ian Madsen Motors to First Lucas Oil ASCS Score at I-80 Speedway

GREENWOOD, Neb. (July 30, 2015) For the first time in his career, 2014 Knoxville Raceway Champion, Ian Madsen, stood in Victory Lane with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network as the 11th different winner in 2015; topping the opening night of the Road to Knoxville at the I-80 Speedway.

Coming from fifth, the St. Marys, NSW, Aust. shoe worked a cross over move on Jeff Swindell in slower traffic, taking the lead on the exit of turn four on Lap 21 to become the 129th winner in Lucas Oil ASCS competition.

“We had a pretty good car; Jeff just got away from me on the restart and I thought we were probably just going to run second, but when he got to traffic, he got messed up by a couple lapped cars and I just made the most of it,” said Madsen in Victory Lane. “I’m very happy to get the win, just wish we’d performed a little better in the 410, but overall it was a good night.”
