Eggleston Victorious at Tucson Speedway

Earns First K&N Pro West Win of 2017 After a Late Race Pass

Tucson, Ariz. – It was a back-and-forth battle all day, but Chris Eggleston came out on top at Tucson Speedway.

Leading 80 of 150 laps in the NAPA Auto Parts Tucson 150, Eggleston beat pole-sitter and defending NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion, Todd Gilliland, to the line to take his sixth career NASCAR K&N Pro Series West victory with his No. 99 NAPA Filters Toyota.

The 27-year-old from Erie, Colorado native, said he stepped up his game for the second half of the event and is grateful to start the 2017 season off in Victory Lane after a doubtful off-season.

Eggleston Eager to Kick Off New Season Saturday at Tucson

ERIE, CO — Chris Eggleston and the NASCAR K&N West Pro Series West open their season Saturday, March 18 at Tucson Speedway (AZ). The Erie, Colorado driver earned two wins and 10 top-10 finishes in 2016 and is excited to get back on track with his Bill McAnally Racing team this weekend.

“I am pumped to be back with everyone at Bill McAnally Racing and really looking forward to getting the season started,” Eggleston said. “It has been a long off-season, and with my 2017 racing plans up in the air for most of the time, I am thankful to be back in the K&N West Series for another run at the Championship.”

Eggleston won the K&N Pro Series West title in 2015, but a handful of tough races towards the end of the 2016 season ended his hopes early to repeat as champion. Now, the 27-year-old driver has his sights set on another title.

Air Titan 2, Part II:  Last fall Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park became the first NASCAR Home Track to enlist the help of an Air Titan 2 when it had one on hand for the Sunoco World Series. The track has once again assured attendees that it will do all it can to get the scheduled events completed in a timely manner by bringing the track-drying technology back for this weekend’s Icebreaker.

Virginia Homecoming:  Newly-hired NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour director Jimmie Walker returns to his home state this weekend for the South Boston 150. Walker grew up near South Boston and most recently worked at Virginia’s Langley Speedway before starting with the tour in February.

K&N Pro Series 2016 Schedules Announced

Twenty-Seven Races Set To Showcase Sport’s Rising Stars

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR K&N Pro Series has become the preeminent development proving ground for the sport’s future stars.

The 27 races on the 2016 schedule – from New England to Southern California, and from Washington to Florida – provides a comprehensive slate of venues and events designed to test drivers and showcase the best and brightest for NASCAR fans.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West schedules, announced today, comprise of 14 points races for each championship. It is highlighted by the annual meeting in the Heartland for the combination race at Iowa Speedway on July 29.

Riddle Takes Chilly Win 100 in Photo Finish

Edges Reed For Super Late Model Victory At Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. — Tayler Riddle kicked off the West Coast racing season with victory by the narrowest of margins Saturday night.

The Naches, Washington, driver collected the win in the Chilly Willy 100 at Tucson Speedway, as his Super Late Model crossed the finish line in a photo finish with Austin Reed. It was the first NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event of the season at the .375-mile oval.

Riddle and Reed battled door to door following a Lap 91 caution, before Riddle got the nose ahead at the line.

Riddles’ margin of victory: .005.

Tucson Re-Joins Whelen All-American Series

Historic Desert Jewel Returns To Its NASCAR Roots

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A historic Arizona short track and NASCAR have reunited.

Tucson Speedway, a .375-mile paved oval, is the seventh track to join the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series for 2014.With different configurations and names, the track was previously NASCAR-sanctioned from 1987-2008.

tucson_logo_14“Tucson Speedway’s return to the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series signals a new beginning for a famous track,” said Bob Duvall, NASCAR senior director of business development. “John Lashley and his team are revitalizing one of Arizona’s premier facilities. The track is known for great competition and family entertainment.”

In October 2012, Lashley obtained the lease on the inactive Pima County-owned property and took more than six months to bring the speedway back to life.
