TSI Harley-Davidson Shifts Title Sponsorship to Stafford’s Connecticut Classic 150

Stafford Springs, CT — TSI Harley-Davidson will be shifting their event title sponsorship to the May 23rd NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Stafford Motor Speedway. The race will be titled the 18th Annual TSI Harley-Davidson and the move comes after TSI Harley-Davidson has lent their name and support to the NASCAR Camping World East Series event at Stafford Motor Speedway for the past three seasons.

Over the past several seasons, the TSI Harley-Davidson 150 has consistently been one of the best Whelen Modified Tour stops on the schedule. The 2003 event saw Jerry Marquis pass Todd Szegedy on the final lap of the race to take the win. The last lap would be the only lap that Marquis led all night long. 2004’s event saw Tony Hirschman outduel Reggie Ruggiero in the closing laps to secure a close victory, while the 2005 event saw Ted Christopher make an amazing charge through the field over the final 50-laps of the race after making numerous pit stops early in the race to correct his car’s handling. The 2006 race turned into a family duel for the win, with John Blewett, III using fresher tires to take the lead from his brother Jimmy with only 15 laps to go after Jimmy had led a race high 110 laps. Last year’s event saw Donny Lia outlast a hard charging James Civali for his second consecutive win at Stafford on his way to the 2007 championship.

“We’re proud to have a company like TSI Harley-Davidson associated with one of our premier events,” said Mark Arute, SMS COO/GM. “TSI Harley-Davidson sponsors eight different cars which are spread throughout all five of our weekly divisions, so not only is TSI Harley-Davidson a great partner for the track, but for our competitors as well.”

TSI Harley-Davidson can be seen every Friday night on the SK Modified® cars of Woody Pitkat and Jeff Malave, the Late Model cars of Rick Charette, Joe Rzeszutek, and Michael Bennett, the SK Light car of Mike Lane, the Limited Late Model car of Lori-Jo Gould, and the DARE Stock car of Dan Flannery.
