Billings, Maskell, Vogelsong & Gertsch Among Speedbowl Winners

Waterford, CT — Glen Billings won the 20-lap Legends feature race at the Waterford Speedbowl Wednesday evening.

Other feature winners were Michael Maskell III (Super X Car), “Bad Brad” Voglesong (X Car), Billy Gerstch Jr. (X Modified), Jesse State, (NEMA Lites) and Kathy Civardi (Women On Wheels)

Modified Champion Jeff Fuller to be Honored at Thompson

NASCAR to Recognize 1992 Modified Champ on June 19

Daytona Beach, FL — As part of a season-long celebration of 60 years of Modified champions, 1992 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour titlist Jeff Fuller will be honored at the New England Dodge Dealers 75 presented by Charter Cable, Internet & Telephone on Thursday, June 19 at Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway.

Originally from Auburn, Mass., Fuller was one of the most successful drivers during the first 10 years of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, and he excelled at Thompson, where he registered a third of his career wins.

Fans Will Notice Improvements at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Loudon, NH — At first glance, fans attending the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 might not recognize New Hampshire Motor Speedway, but one look up and there is no doubt that they will know where they are.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway is undergoing a new and improved look. Fans who pass the speedway are sure to notice the obvious improvements to the signs facing Route 106. The Main, North and South entrances are now marked with bigger and brighter signs, including modern, electronic message boards on two of the signs. Branding of New Hampshire Motor Speedway is evident on elevator towers, along the face of the VIP Suites and the main entrance. In addition, a new design is featured on the infield tunnel entrance and exit.

Lenox Industrial Tools 301 Race Fans will Get Disney-Style Shuttle as NHMS Introduces New Tram System

Loudon, NH — Race fans visiting New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 Week activities will find it easier to navigate around the 1,100-acre complex with the introduction of a new Disney-like tram system.

The tram system, similar to that offered to visitors at Walt Disney World, will move guests from the parking and camping lots to grandstand area, providing a more efficient route to and from the races.

Wild n’ Wacky Wednesday Set To Resume

Waterford, CT — Traditionally, Wild n’ Wacky Wednesday “heats up” with the weather. After two-straight postponements, action resumed this week with the NEMA Lites Midgets joining the X and Super X Cars, the X-Modifieds and the Legends.

Jason Palmer (Legends), Steve Barrett (Super X), Brag Voglesong (X-Car) and Chris Drouin Jr. (X-Modified) will take the point leads in the action. Championship battles are already taking shape notably in the X-Modifieds where Bill Gertsh Jr. will be looking for a second-straight victory. Kevin Shea and David Flammia Jr. are also in the mix.

Leighton Picks Ups Third Place Finish At Waterford

Waterford, CT — In a surprise visit, Brad Leighton made his first American-Canadian Tour appearance of the season at Waterford Speedbowl Saturday night, and stood on the podium with a third place finish for the Irving Oil race team. Leighton’s start in the Nutmeg 100 will replace a scheduled appearance at White Mountain on June 28th.

Leighton’s weekend kicked off with the team scrambling to find a motor issue – a problem that would plague them for the rest of the day.
