Pitkat & Coby To Drive No. 28

Don King, owner of the No. 28 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour team, has announced that he has replaced driver James Civali with a tandem of Doug Coby and Woody Pitkat for the remainder of the season.

Coby, of Milford, Conn., will fill the seat this Friday as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour stops at Stafford (Conn.) Motor Speedway for the New England Dodge Dealers 150. Coby has previously driven for King, and has one win and 23 top 10s in 76 career starts in the series.

Pitkat, of Stafford, Conn., has worked this year as a member of King’s No. 28 crew. He made 10 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour starts for Hillbilly Racing in 2007 and registered four top 10s.

Both Coby and Pitkat have been competing in NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action this year at Stafford, Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway and Waterford (Conn.) Speedbowl.

Civali, the 2006 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Rookie of the Year, has registered four wins and 23 top 10s in 43 career starts. After seven races in 2008 the Meriden, Conn., native was 15th in the season standings with three top 10s.
