Daniels Comes Back to Race for Ricky

Canaan, NH — It is no secret that the racing game is hard to walk away from when you choose to make that move.  Drivers and even car owners who spend 20 plus years involved in racing look for other opportunities to occupy time. Most will focus on family, vacations, kid’s sports, home projects, whatever it takes to deter them from wanting to get back. For some, they can’t break away,, always looking for results, news, go to the races, or in this case just sit back and from a distance watch the progress, the growth, the weekly happenings of the True Value Modified Racing Series.

Peter Daniels, an eight-time track champion at Twin State, three of those titles in the modified division, admits he’s paid attention since his last race in 2005. “I have kept up with the series, absolutely, it is amazing to see where the series is, where it has come from, the names that are competing. Daniels added, “I have really missed racing, missed the series, I raced against some greats drivers, but it was time to move on.”

McKennedy Nabs True Value Modified Race at All-Star

Epping, NH — Jon McKennedy started 24th in a field of 26 competitors Saturday night Sept 20, stayed out of trouble, had a strong race car in the late stages, and went on to win the 100 lap race True Value Modified Racing Series event at the All-Star Speedway, Epping , NH. It was the second TVMRS career win for the Chelmsford MA., driver who took the lead on lap 79, ironically his car number a year ago, to register the victory. McKennedy has run strong all season and has come close several times to a win but was not able to put it all together until Saturday night in front of a hometown crowd.

McKennedy, a long time racer at the New Hampshire speedway utilized his experience and knowledge of the ¼ mile race track to work his way to the front. Once there, he opened a full straightaway lead over the field until a late race caution flag slowed the pace with two laps remaining.

Ryan Vanasse Picks Up Phil’s Propane 50 Lap Win, while Kid Scully, Radical Rick and Brian Spillane Visit Victory Lane

Astle Flyin’ High after picking up 3rd Pro Stock Title, Gerry D makes it 4 in the Late Models while Sparky and Cavallaro make it three in the Street Stocks and the Sport Trucks

Seekonk, MA — With only eight points separating the top two coming into the final event, Tom Scully Jr knew what he had to do. Go out and win. Anything else that would happen would happen. And that is exactly what he did. After starting in ninth position, he moved into the top five quickly and set his sights toward the leaders. Using the inside and outside lanes, the East Coast Collision Chevy driver was on a mission. A couple of timely cautions helped close in the distance between he and the leaders, as John Dabrowski was setting the pace early on and putting a little cushion on Ken Spencer and crew.

Early on, it was a pair of rookies closing in on the Tire Warehouse Chevy, but a tangle between Jake Vanada and Ryan Vanasse while battling for second sent both to the pits for the night. After the field went green, Scully found himself working the second groove to the lead, and on lap 11, all he had to continue what he was doing. A couple of laps later, Astle found himself following the tire tracks of Scully.
