Speedbowl Awards Banquet Up Next

Waterford, CT — The Waterford Speedbowl will honor its 2008 NASCAR Whelen All American Series track Champions and Saturday Legends Champion on Saturday evening, January 10 at the annual awards banquet.  The event, produced by Power Posse Productions, will be held at Groton Inn & Suites.

Speedbowl history will be made when Dennis Gada is crowned a 7-time SK Modified® track champion, the most championships of any single competitor in the ‘Bowl’s storied history dating back to 1951.  Gada had previously been tied with Phil Rondeau (Late Model) and Bob Potter (Modified/SK Modified®) with six.  In honor of his achievement, Gada’s familiar #3 car will be featured in a special display at Groton Inn & Suites.

Speedbowl Releases Rules of Competition

Waterford, CT — The Waterford Speedbowl has released the rules of competition for its Saturday divisions for the 2009 season.  Along with this comes the official announcement the ‘Sportsman’ division will be re-named the Street Stock division in all references moving forward.

Rules for the SK Modified®, Late Model, Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions are available for download on, the primary source for ‘Bowl information and updates while the refurbishment of continues to take place.  Competitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with their division rules and direct any questions to Tom Fox, the Speedbowl’s Race Director.   Tom can be reached by email at  Those who cannot access the rules via the web should contact the track office at 860-443-7443 to arrange receiving a copy in person, by fax or regular mail.

Allison Legacy North Releases Tenative 2009 Schedule

Newburgh, NY — The ALNRS releases the Tentative 2009 Race Schedule.  Series Director Michael A. Vasquez, Sr. as been finalizing the schedule for the last several weeks.  Michael stated that 12 of the 14 race have been confirmed.  We are currently trying to finalize a return to the Waterford Speedbowl in 2009 stated Michael.  We are hoping to once again kick off our season at the Budweiser Modified Nationals at Waterford as we have done for the past few seasons prior to 2008 stated Michael.

Also for the first time the North schedule will include a 75 Lap Blue/Grey Shooutout to be held on June 27 at the Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC.  With the race being a points race for the North Series Drivers the field would most likely have well over thirty Legacy cars.
