2009 Speedbowl Season Safe – Foreclosure Extended
Waterford, CT — Waterford Speedbowl management announced Thursday they have successfully petitioned the Superior Court of New London to postpone the possible foreclosure sale of the facility until October 31st of this year. The Court had previously set March 7 as the sale date. This new schedule effectively ensures that the 2009 racing season will be completed.
“This gives us valuable time to arrange permanent financing and at the same time it protects the financial interests of all the parties involved”, said Terry Eames, track owner and promoter. “We still have a lot to do to bring the ‘Bowl back to its former glory, but, with this news and the fantastic support we are getting from the racing community, the job gets easier every day”, Eames added.
The Speedbowl will open its 59th consecutive season with the 13th annual Budweiser Modified Nationals on March 28-29, the region’s premier event for the SK Modifieds, the ‘Bowl’s headline division.
