Among them are three of NASCAR’s longest continuously-operated tracks.

The “granddaddy” of all NASCAR short tracks is Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C. The flat .250-mile paved oval echoes of NASCAR history on a weekly basis. No Sizzling Rivarly For Stoehr Brothers

Greg and Russ Stoehr will be Northeastern Midget Association foes again for the first time since 1994. The sons of Paul Stoehr, they make up the second winingest brother combination in NEMA history.

When NEMA opens its 57th season May 23 at Monadnock Speedway, Greg will be in the Mazda-powered #26 that he drove to a pair of wins in ’08. Over the past two seasons, Greg has won twice at Monadnock.

Russ, back in the seat after five years away, returns to the Angelillo #45 team. That combination produced nine victories and three-straight championships (2000-2002). His last win came at Thompson’s World Series in 2002.

Hypocrite?

We have reached the end of our Winter Bible Study for 2009. We have covered the middle section of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus’ first public teaching of his disciples. We have learned many things but this week’s lesson hits us right at home, don’t be something you are not. Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We have heard this word and even used this word but have we really explored the meaning? Hypocrite- 1) a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion 2) a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings.

Record Registration Creates Full Roster for True Value Modified Racing Series

Canaan, NH — Despite the country’s present economic status, the old adage racers always find ways to race certainly applies to the True Value Modified Racing Series. The sixth year touring division is gearing up for its season opener and as the anticipation grows for the new campaign, so does the roster of drivers.

“Very surprised, said Jack Bateman, when addressing his staff at a recent pre-season briefing reflecting on the interest and registrations for the 2009 season. This is the highest registration count we’ve ever had going into the season. In these times it’s pretty amazing,” said the founder of the New England based series.

To date, a record 53 teams have secured numbers and paid fee’s to compete. Bateman has structured a 16 race schedule in response and additional prize money will be paid this year.
