Seekonk, MA — On Friday, August 14, Branden Dion continued to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a winner at Seekonk Speedway. His father Scott is a multi time winner in the Late Model division. Branden picked up his first career win in the Seekonk Youth Racing Association 600 class. Branded started on the pole in the 25 lap feature, and survived a restart on lap 11, and kept Jason Enos II at bay for the entire event.
Point leader Dave Hutchens raced with Nick Lascoula for several laps early in the event, when Willie Sanchez moved into the top five and challenged the two former winners for the third position. On lap eleven, contact was made, sending Hutchins around, bringing out the only caution of the event. Sanchez was sent to the rear for the assist. Hutchens came back to post a third place finish. Sanchez wound up seventh.
Jason Enos ran second the full distance, but could not muster up a charge on the young racer. Nick Lascoula, who rolled his racer the previous week, was back in action and held off Tyler Nailer for fourth in the final rundown.

The first annual Pro Four Modified Powder Puff Race was such a rousing success that there is going to be another one. In a joint release, Four Cylinder Nationals Promoter and Kraze Korlacki Speed Equipment owner, Gary Sagar, announced along with the management of Seekonk Speedway, a second puff race slated for Saturday night, August 29, 2009. The 20-lap shootout will once again showcase the female friends, fans, and family members of Pro Four drivers in an effort to raise funds to fight breast cancer.
Deb Lausier won the first Powder Puff Race this season at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, besting the eight car field. Running in the third position for most of the race, Lausier made her move on a late race restart and wrestled the top spot away from Toni Wright as the white flag was in the air. Sam Diamond finished second with Wright in third and Sally Gherardi and Heather Olson rounding out the top five.

The season is in full swing and we are on the road for most of the month of August. The championship races are shaping up and there is plenty of racing left. Now we enter the time of the season where the heat is turned up. How do we perform under the microscope? People will see our true character. When they do will they see the love of Jesus? Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Many times in life and racing we find ourselves in pressure packed situations. We need to perform better to retain a sponsor or we need a good finish to secure our point standings. There are many opportunities at this time of the racing season to forget about everything and focus on our on track performance. Crunch Time!
