Seekonk Speedway sets 2010 rules meeting dates and times

Seekonk, MA — With the 2009 racing season behind us, Seekonk Speedway has already set an eye to ’10. “We feel that we should get this done early in the off season, so everyone can start to prepare on next season,” Race Director Dave Alburn stated. “I’ve got a couple of things hopping around, and want to discuss them with the competitors, so we can have everyone on the same page as we get ready for our 65th season.”

The dates are as follows: Tuesday, October 27, SYRA 6pm, Street Stocks 7pm, Seekonk Sport Trucks 8pm. On Wednesday, October 28, Pure Stocks & Sport4 6pm, Late Models 7pm, Pro Stocks 8pm. The meetings will be held at the American Legion Hall at 351 Fall River Avenue, Seekonk, MA. Located across from The Old Grist Mill Restaurant, it is the same location that has been hosting the meetings for the past several years.

True Value Modified Championship Comes Down To Lee Finale

Lee, NH — Last October, three drivers headed into Lee USA Speedway, in Lee, NH., battling for the True Value Modified Racing Series championship. Three-time champion Kirk Alexander, eventual series champ Chris Pasteryak, and veteran Mike Holdridge, sat atop the standings. This weekend, its three new faces in search of the series title, Jonathan McKennedy, Rob Goodenough, and Stephen Masse.

The 3/8 mile seacoast facility will once again host the championship race. Last year Twin State Speedway, Claremont, NH., held that honor. This year, the 15 race schedule will conclude at Lee and track manager Bob Watson couldn’t be happier.

Said Watson, “We are delighted to have the last race and the championship being decided again at Lee, Like the 2006 Oktoberfest race between Dwight Jarvis and Jimmy Kuhn, this points race is going down to the last day here and it just adds to the excitement of our weekend. A new driver will become a champion for that series and he will always remember it happened here at Lee,” he concluded.

Pro Fours Cap Off 2009 Season with Prestigious World Series of Speedway Racing

N. Easton, MA — This weekend, October 23-24, 2009, the Pro Four Modifieds of New England (PFMNE) will put an exclamation point on their 2009 season. The four cylinder modifieds will take part in the highly acclaimed World Series of Speedway Racing at the Thompson Int’l Speedway, an event which the Club has been taking part in for many years.

The World Series will be the fourteenth and final event of a season which has seen four different feature winners. Veteran driver Norm Wrenn has amassed an astonishing ten wins with Cory Cleary, Franky Perry, and Robin Berghman being the only other victors. By virtue of his stellar performance, Wrenn will officially be coronated the 2009 PFMNE champion at Thompson. Wrenn is not the only one who will be crowned a champion this weekend, however, as Stan Mertz will be declared the 2009 Limited Pro Four Modified Champion.
