Daredevil Youth Racers Set To Invade Canaan Asphalt Speedway In 2010

CANAAN, NH — 2010 is going to be a year of changes at Canaan Fair Asphalt Speedway in Canaan, New Hampshire, and one of the big changes will be the inaugural season for the Daredevil Youth Racers at the Speedway.

“Daredevil Youth Racing will become a valuable part in the growth of the track, stated new General Manager, Dick Therrien. These kids will become the future of racing, and that is very exciting! We monitor the growth of this division extremely carefully so that it becomes a great learning experience for the youngster, as well as a good experience for parents and the Youth Racer teams.”

Daredevil Youth Racers ages will range from 10 to 14 year olds. There will be several driving schools for the kids to teach them the proper skills that they will need to become great racers in the future. “It is so important to not allow any pressure to be put on these kids as they embark on their racing careers, explained Therrien. Each youngster will develop at their own pace, and will become better and faster as they become more confident, and comfortable. We will have two divisions if the numbers allow, and they will run features only for most of the season. There are no points or purses, just trophies for the top three. The reason being is that we stress respect and sportsmanship, and not over-zealous competitiveness that money and points generally cause.”

The Daredevils is an extremely affordable division as they run the same rules as the Bandits. This allows the car to be used by more than one person with just an adjustable seat in place. The Bandits are CFS entry level division, and constructing a car is very affordable.
