New England Truck Series to Open at Albany-Saratoga

The newly-renamed New England Truck Series (NETS) will do battle for the first time under its new banner on Saturday, April 17, when Albany-Saratoga Speedway will swing their gates open to the full-sized race trucks for 50 action-packed laps. NETS will be part of this historic race weekend, which will mark the return of the Speedway to its asphalt roots after operating as a 4/10-mile dirt oval for the past many seasons.

“There could not be a better beginning for the New England Truck Series. Just as Albany-Saratoga Speedway is celebrating a new start, so too, we are celebrating a new day in the life of our touring division. It truly is a pleasure to open our season up with this prestigious event,” NETS Consultant, Josh Vanada, said.

The 50-lap main will showcase the stars of the region’s lone truck division as they look to start their season’s off in hot pursuit of the coveted Series’ title. Defending Series’ Champion Andy Lindeman will lead the charge as he looks to add Albany-Saratoga to an already impressive list of tracks where he has visited victory lane.

The April 17 event at Albany-Saratoga is the first of ten scheduled events in 2010 for NETS competitors. Pit gates will open at 10:00am, practice will begin 11:00am, and racing is set to begin 12:00noon.
