Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway returned to racing action with the 37th Annual Coors Light SK Modified® 100 on Friday, June 11th. Keith Rocco defended his 100-lap victory from one year ago and scored his fourth win of the 2010 season, Ryan Posocco picked up his first win of the 2010 season and the 40th win of his Late Model career at Stafford in the 30-lap Late Model feature, Frank Cardile scored his second victory of 2010 in the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature, Dan Flannery scored his third win of 2010 in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, and Cory Casagrande picked up his second win of 2010 in the 15-lap DARE Stock feature.
In the 37th Annual Coors Light 100-lap SK Modified® feature event, Brit Andersen took the early race lead, but the caution came out with one lap complete for a multi-car incident in turn 3 involving Jeff Baral, Frank Ruocco, and Matt Gallo. Andersen led the race until lap-4 when Josh Sylvester went to the front. The caution came back out with 4 laps on the board as Todd Owen spun in turn 2 and collected several cars including Woody Pitkat, John Montesanto, and Brad Hietala. Pitkat was able to come to pit road and change a flat tire while Montesanto and Hietala were not so lucky.
Chris Jones took the lead from Sylvester back under green. Ted Christopher and Keith Rocco were fourth and fifth on the restart and they quickly moved into second and third. Jones held the lead until lap-16 when Christopher and Rocco both got by Jones.

Seekonk, MA — Bill Chouinard of Swansea made it two in a row in the Pure Stock main event on Friday night. Having to start last in the feature, by virtue of his previous weeks win, Bill was able to move through the 27 car field and take over the top spot by lap 20 in the 25 lap feature.
John Robidoux was the first to set the pace, jumping out from his pole starting position. Pawtucket’s Amy Arsenault jumped into second, with Harold Pratt taking over third in the early laps. By the time the first caution came out on lap 5, Chouinard had already moved past 18 cars, into ninth.
By lap 8, Pratt moved past Arsenault, and the Plymouth native started to put pressure on Robidoux. The pair raced wheel to wheel for several laps. Pratt took over on lap 17, just before the second caution came out for Mark Miranda, who spun in turn 3. Jamie Salley, who started twelfth, had taken over second, with Chouinard, opening day winner Nick Uhrig, and Ed Flanagan Jr rounding out the top five.

Oftentimes, winning one of the season’s biggest races is but the beginning of the story. For Eddie MacDonald, winning at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is the final chapter in the ultimate underdog story.
How “underdog” is the New England born and bred NASCAR K&N Pro Series East driver?
When MacDonald first won at New Hampshire in June of 2008, four of the five cars finishing directly behind him were fielded by Sprint Cup Series teams. It was just the fourth win at the time in a career spanning more than 100 series starts. And one of the most crucial suspension pieces on his winning No. 71 Chevrolet had been crafted, quite literally, in a basement.
Two years later, it seems as though the victory still hasn’t quite sunk in.

We had some technical difficulty last week and the column never made it to the AARN offices. It is floating around out there somewhere in cyberspace. If you find it let me know. If you would like to read it you can drop me a note and I’ll let you know where to find it. Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Well, you might imagine how disappointed I was when the column didn’t make it into the paper. I know there are so many folks that read it there every week. But I guess it is like not qualifying for the A main, it didn’t get there on time.
I didn’t have much time to dwell on that this week as it was a short week for me; with the holiday on Monday and heading to Martinsville on Friday, I had other things to get done. I did feel though that I some how let God down.
