Speedbowl Cancels June 12 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series race program

Waterford, CT — Waterford Speedbowl was forced to cancel tonight’s scheduled NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing program due to rain.

The next event for the Speedbowl will be Wednesday, June 16′s Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday program.

NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing at the track will resume next Saturday, June 19. The Speedbowl will host Laps for Lupus, a benefit track walk for the Connecticut Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America. A five division race program accompanies the benefit.

Rain forces cancellation of the Modified Racing Series at Seekonk Speedway

Seekonk, MA — For the third time this season, Mother Nature forced the management at Seekonk Speedway to cancel the show. This time, it was the Modified Racing Series presented by Valentiautomall.com that took the hit. This was to be the first of three visits to the Bay State oval, and the only opportunity for the competitors to gear up for the Open Wheel Wednesday Modified Madness to be held on July 21.

ARC Racing will resume this Saturday Night, with the Pro Stocks, Late Models, Street Stocks and Sport Trucks. Qualifying starts at 6pm. Adult admission is just $12.00, with kids under 12 FREE. For more information, check us out at seekonkspeedway.com, or visit us on Facebook.

Karl Allard Takes Autodrome Chaudiere Checkers

St-Felicien’s Karl Allard earned his fourth career Série ACT Castrol win in the 150 lap event at Autodrome Chaudiere on Saturday, June 12. Allard started sixteenth and took the lead after a restart on lap 132 and never looked back. The event was previously scheduled for Friday, June 11 but was postponed after qualifying due to electrical difficulties.

Allard becomes the sixth qualifier for the second annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 18. In the Inaugural running of the ACT Invitational last September Allard finished twelfth.

The remainder of the results from Autodrome Chaudiere are pending disciplinary penalties and should be announced on Monday, June 14.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway Community Comes Together for Charity Toy Ride and State Legislators Lap

Loudon, NH — For the second consecutive year the Ron Meade Toy Run and Parade Lap will honor the memory of long time New Hampshire Motor Speedway employee and motorsports publicist, Ron Meade.

The ride leaves from Meredith High School (Inter-lakes) at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 13. Riders will travel to the speedway, where Ron was an employee.

Ron passed away in September 2008 after a brief illness. He was actively involved in the promotion of travel and tourism throughout the Granite State.

“Ron was truly a valued colleague, and we miss him greatly,” said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
