Twin State Fall Challenge Features Modified Racing Series and Area Track Champions

Claremont, NH — When the green flag drops on the 3rd annual “Fall Challenge” this weekend at Claremont’s Twin State Speedway, several area division champions will be in competition, all part of the ten-division two-day race program scheduled, Oct 16 & 17; at the Upper Valley race facility.

In addition, Twin State will be the next to last stop on the Modified Racing Series tour as that championship is still being contested. Local favorite and former Twin State champion, Dwight Jarvis of Acutney, VT, is in a heated battle for the 2010 title. Jon McKennedy, Chelmsford, MA, and Jacob Dore, Sanford, ME, both winners last year at Twin State, are just a few of the MRS drivers expected.

2010 Twin State Champions lead the list of entries looking to close out the season in victory lane. Many track regulars that compete in the weekly racing series have shown interest in the season finale, Late Model Champion Guy Caron, of Lempster, NH, will headline the Late Model division. Second place finisher in the point standings, Aaron Fellows, Croydon, N.H., is also expected Grantham, NH’s, Michael Willis, the Pepsi Modified track champion, will try to defend his home-turf with Monadnock Speedway Sportsman-Modified champion Bill Kimball, of Bennington, NH, expected.

Pro-Stocks will again be part of the action with Monadnock champ Barry Gray, Belchertown, MA, and runner-up, Mike Parks, Walpole, NH, headlining the pre-race expected entry list. Steve Gauthier, Jaffrey, Geoff Rollins, of Groton, MA, and Russ Hersey, Swanzey, NH, have also shown interest.

Super Street Champion Chris Wilk, Mendon VT, will be joined by Monadnock regulars, Joe Bates, Langdon, NH, and John Lavoie, Peterborough, NH. Several of the weekly Twin State racers are also expected, as is Canaan hot-shoe Jimmy Renfrew, of Hooksett, NH.

Dirt Modifieds from Bear Ridge and Canaan Fair Speedway’s will debut at this year’s event. Touring divisions including, the Northeast Mini-Stock Tour, the Allison Legacy Tour, and the Northeast Classic Lites, (Saturday) will also compete.

A $1,000 to win 4 cylinder Enduro race has been scheduled for Saturday night.

Qualifying races for all divisions take place on Saturday at 2:00 PM, with feature races on Sunday starting at 12 noon. The Modified Racing Series 100 lap race has been scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
