The Setup For A Legendary 5th Anniversary

The North East Mini Stock Tour (NEMST) will carry its large head of steam built in 2012 of large car counts and breathtaking racing with photo finishes into 2013, the NEMST’s fifth year in competition. The NEMST held its first event at Canaan Fair Speedway May 23, 2009 with Emerson Cayer taking home first NEMST winner’s trophy. Since that day the tour has held 33 additional events with 13 different Feature winners. The largest news in NEMST history came in February of 2012 when the dates at New Hampshire Motor Speedway were released for the mini-stocks to run on the 1.6 mile road course and the mini-oval setup in turn 2, as well as the news in 2011 of the NEMST signing on national sponsorship from Texas Roadhouse.

“We have worked very hard in making the series better from year to year and raising the bar for competitors, fans, and sponsors alike. The news of 3 brand new to us race tracks and the return to the NEMST’s home state of Maine is sure to make a tidal wave throughout the mini-stock racing community.” said NEMST Promoter Bob Guptill. Big news came in the form of one new track confirmed at the year end Championship Banquet in November with a date at the famed ½ mile of Stafford Motor Speedway confirmed in April for Stafford’s opening weekend Spring Sizzler.

Without further suspense, here is the 2013 Schedule of Events.

The 2013 NEMST season will open at Lee USA Speedway for Lee’s annual Governor’s Cup ACT late model event. From Lee the NEMST will travel south and make its debut at Stafford Motor Speedway. Following Stafford the NEMST will take a few weeks off and then return to its home state of Maine May 18th for a race at Wiscasset Speedway. After Wiscasset the NEMST will make its return to the Waterford Speedbowl for Four-Cylinder-Fury held the first Saturday in June.

Some of the largest news for the NEMST in 2013 will happen Sunday June 16th as the tour rolls to its farthest west destination and run a 50 lap feature on the historic ¼ mile in Barre, VT Thunder Road International Speedbowl. The NEMST will reach its halfway point at the same place it started for Lee USA’s annual firework extravaganza held on July 2nd a Tuesday Night.

The NEMST will be invited back to NHMS for a 15 lap Road Course event Saturday August 3rd and then return to Monadnock Speedway 2 weeks later on August 17th. As the NEMST rolls through September the annual visit to Star Speedway in Epping, NH will be made on September 28th.

To settle the Championship for 2013 the NEMST will make its first appearance at another new track for the tour. Riverside Speedway in Groveton, NH will host the final event of the 2013 and welcome the fierce battle onto its high-banked lightning quick ¼ mile.
