DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour visits Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 3 for the Kevin Powell Motorsports 199. Below is a statistical look at the recent performance of the tour and selected drivers at Bowman Gray, as well as some other statistical trends:

Bowman Gray Race Setup
• Competition begins to heat up as the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour heads to the first of its final seven races of the season. Three consecutive wins have propelled George Brunnhoelzl III to a 24-point lead in the championship standings, as he takes aim on a fourth championship.
• Brunnhoelzl scored his first Bowman Gray win when the tour visited on the historic flat quarter-mile track in 2012.
• Burt Myers (2005, 2007) and Jason Myers (2006) accounted for the first three Southern Modified Tour wins at Bowman Gray, but haven’t won since.
• Luke Fleming won at Bowman Gray in 2009 Southern Modified Tour debut.

NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour At Bowman Gray
• The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour has made eight visits to Bowman Gray Stadium.
• The quarter-mile track was built and opened on May 18, 1949 by NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. and Alvin Hawkins. Fonty Flock won the first race.
• The track also hosts nearby Winston-Salem State University home football games in the infield of the stadium.
• The eight tour events at Bowman Gray have resulted in six different race winners. Burt Myers and L.W. Miller, with two victories each, are the only drivers with multiple wins.
• There have been five different pole winners at Bowman Gray. Burt Myers, with four poles, is the only driver with multiple poles.
• Tim Brown and Burt Myers are tied for the most top five finishes at Bowman Gray, with five each.
• Tim Brown, L.W. Miller, Burt Myers and Jason Myers are tied for the most top 10s at Bowman Gray, with six each.
