PRACTICE: Brown Fastest at Langley
Looks To Capture Second Win At The Track
HAMPTON, Va. – Tim Brown turned in the fast lap at Langley (Va.) Speedway on Saturday during practice for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour.
Brown, who was eigth in the first practice session, turned a lap in the final session of 14.919 seconds at an average speed of 95.556 mph around the .395-mile oval.
Danny Bohn had the second quickest lap at 14.929 seconds (95.492 mph) as teams prepared for the Newport News Shipbuilding/Bayport Credit Union 150.
NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour regular Patrick Emerling was third fastest at 14.932 seconds, followed by points leader George Brunnhoelzl III, Andy Seuss, John Smith, Renee Dupui, A.J. Winstead and Kyle Ebersole to complete the rundown of the top 10 in practice.
Brown, from Rural Hall, N.C., won the innaugural series race at Langley back in 2010. He’ll look to capture his third pole of the season when qualifying gets underway, scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
The Newport News Shipbuilding/Bayport Credit Union 150 is scheduled for a green flag start of 8 p.m.
