“The Big Race A Little Guy Can Win” Set For Accord Speedway Tuesday, August 5 When New York Truck Parts Presents ‘Battle of the Bullring 2’ NDRL Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP Event; $5,200 To Win Modifieds With Record $520 To Start At History-Making Spectacular; Open vs. Crate 602 Sportsman Battle For $1,000 Winner’s Share

ACCORD, NY – Call it the “big race a little guy can win” on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Accord Speedway.

With the traveling Super DIRTcar Series stars away in the far reaches Western New York, the weekend warriors of the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP take center stage when New York Truck Parts presents the ‘Battle of the Bullring 2’ at Gary and Donna Palmer’s pristine quarter-mile oval in a co-promotion with Brett Deyo of BD Motorsports Media LLC.

Round No. 4 of the NDRL Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP is headlined by a 52-lap big-block/small-block Modified main event paying $5,200 to win, $1,020 for eighth and a new Accord Speedway record $520 to take the green flag.

The Modifieds are joined on the program by Open vs. Crate 602 Sportsman in a 25-lap event offering $1,000 to the winner and $100 to start. There is a rain date for this event of Wed., Aug. 6.

Last year’s inaugural ‘Battle of the Bullring’ was a crowd-pleaser. Track regular Danny Creeden of Wurtsboro, N.Y., swapped the lead with invader Mike Mahaney and fended off a charging Jackie Brown Jr. to earn $5,925 in the most prolific victory of his career. Brown had actually been towed off the track on the opening lap, completed repairs and drove through the pack to finish second. At one point Mahaney, Creeden, Brown, Mike Ricci and Andy Bachetti were locked in a five-car tussle for the lead.

For the second ‘Battle of the Bullring’ presentation, the base winner’s share has been bumped to $5,200 to celebrate 52 years of racing at the Ulster County facility, in addition to the bolstered $520 green-flag money.

Competitors will also be eligible for a long list of contingency awards distributed at each event on the NDRL Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP six-race schedule. There will lap money and much more, making for a lucrative night at the Big A!

“Accord Speedway is the perfect setting for our events,” event co-promoter Deyo, NDRL Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP organizer, said. “Our series is all about the ‘working man’ racer and the quarter-mile at Accord favors those types of competitors. This event is the perfect opportunity to showcase the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night racers and allow them to collect a big payday.”

The Accord event will be integral in the race for the $10,014 inaugural NDRL Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP championship. Track regular Andy Bachetti is in the midst of a title fight following a victory in the points-paying series opener in April at N.Y.’s Orange County Fair Speedway April 6.
