Moltz, Granite State Pro Stock Series Celebrate 2014 Season

Manchester, NH — The Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) held the 2014 Championship Awards Banquet on Saturday night, January 10, at the Best Western Executive Court in Manchester, NH, where drivers received nearly $17,000 in contingency prizes and point fund moneys.

“Thrillin’” Dillon Moltz was the star of the night, as he celebrated his championship season in style, collecting his Championship trophy and point fund, as well as the Rookie of the Year for the 2014 season.  Moltz secured his first GSPSS championship by finishing 6th at the World Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.  The Waterford, Connecticut, driver picked up a win at Star Speedway in the NH Classic, to go along with his 8-top five and 10-top ten finishes out of eleven races.

Owner of the RB Performance/ Brackett Mechanical Chevrolet, Mark Brackett, received recognition for his Owner’s Championship, as well.  The Jay, Maine, native gave praise to his young driver, stating the drive and determination of Moltz led to such quick success.

Young-gun Derek Griffith picked up honors as Most Improved Driver, after finishing with 6-top five and 10-top ten finishes.  Griffith showed his determination on track, as the Hudson, New Hampshire, native improved 54 spots from his starting feature position over the course of the 2014 season, for an average just shy of 5 spots per race.

The Callen family, Bill and Bryon, were honored with the second-annual JBH award.  The JBH award is given to people who go out of their way to help the series prosper.  Both Bill (Scoring) and Bryon (Race Director) have made sacrifices in the 2014 season, making the series a priority in their busy lives.
