Jarvenpaa Seeking Improvement, Championships

Tyler Jarvenpaa will return to the Sportsman Modified division this season at the Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH.  Jarvenpaa finished sixth in points last season.  As he heads back for this upcoming season, he is more focused on getting wins than looking at the standings.  The competition in the Sportsman Modified division has grown over the last few years at the quarter mile oval.

“The competition level has been awesome the past few years and I expect it to be tough again this year,” Jarvenpaa said. “There are a lot of good drivers and teams we are up against and it makes a lot of fun to race at there.”

Some new drivers will also join the division too.  “I’ve heard a few new teams coming in. I wouldn’t be surprised to see 20 cars on opening day.”

Jarvenpaa had a crazy year last year where he couldn’t catch a break. It was at the wrong place at the wrong time and a lot of part failures.  Jarvenpaa did have a few strong runs and learned a lot of new things to apply to this year.

“It was kind of tough going from the good season we had the year before to a rough season last year, but we learned from it and I think we can have a great season this year.”

Jarvenpaa’s goals for this year are to win races, and the championship, and the NASCAR Whelen All- American Series state championship.  He would also like to run the World Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in October.

Monadnock Speedway will kick off their 2015 season on Saturday April 18 with Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash 100 featuring the Valenti Modified Racing Series, Sportsman Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, New England Pro 4 Modifieds, Lightning Stocks, Thunder Stocks, and Young Guns. The racing will start at 5:00 P.M.
