New London-Waterford Speedbowl Thursday Night Thunder 5/7 Results

Waterford, CT (May 7, 2015) – New-London Waterford Speedbowl debuted its Thursday Night Thunder program at the popular shoreline oval Thursday evening, offering affordable mid-week motorsports action for fans and competitors alike.  Scoring the opening night wins included Joey Ternullo of Middletown in INEX Legend Cars racing, while Colchester’s Anthony Marvin won the INEX Bandolero feature.  Ray Reed of Norwich took home the win in the Super X-Car feature and Dave Gargaro Jr. of Cranston RI picked up the honors in the X-Car main event.

Marvin and Reed won their respective division championships a season ago, and picked up where they left off with opening night feature wins.  Each led the duration of their races on opening night.  Marvin bested the field in the 20-lap INEX Bandolero race and Reed took command on the opening lap of the 25-lap Super X-Car feature.  Ternullo was strong throughout the 25-lap INEX feature in claiming the win, and Gargaro was equally impressive in taking the 25-lap X-Car race.

The new Thursday Night Thunder format takes the place of the Speedbowl’s former Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday program and is in action every Thursday evening through September. Offering adult grandstands admission of eight dollars, and free grandstands admission for all youth ages 14 and under, the evening is truly an affordable family night of entertainment. Spectator grandstands open at 5:30pm each Thursday evening and racing action begins at 7:00pm with qualifying races, followed by main events.  More information on the Thursday Night Thunder season is available online at Speedbowlct.com.
