F1600, F2000 and Atlantic Drivers Preview PittRace Weekend

Note: Full Weekend Preview Available Here.

Salem, NH – A full preview of the upcoming PittRace event weekend, talking to select drivers that make up the grid of the F1600, F2000 and Atlantic Championships – all part of Formula Race Promotions.

F1600

Hans Ada, No. 33 Entry:

“I haven’t raced at Pittsburgh yet but I have tested there once last fall. Like always I will study video and test the track on iRacing. A good weekend would be a consistent top-five finish but I believe I have what it takes now to win. It has now been a full year that I have been racing on asphalt and every time I progress a solid step towards learning the art of asphalt racing.”

Peter Portante, No. 24 Entry:

“Here at Pitt we are looking to keep doing what we have been doing all year, being the fastest car on track. The biggest thing for this weekend is, and as stupid as it sounds, is to not get hit. If we can finish a race with contact we can guarantee ourselves a very good chance for the win. This will be my first time competing here at Pittsburgh, however I have done Private Coaching work here before, so I am very eager to transfer the information I have seen and taught into my own racing here at Pitt Race Complex.”

Steve Bamford, No. 07 Entry:

“In F1600 we are still chasing the leaders and need a few wins to narrow the margin. I have held both race and qualifying records for F1600 in the past on the new track so hope to use the speed we have there to get poles and wins.”

F2000

John McCusker, No. 01 Entry:

“My goal is to have a good time, close racing, and hopefully challenge for the win. I have raced at Pitt before and love the track with the additions. It is a ton of fun, especially through the new back section.”

Steve Jenks, No. 68 Entry:

“We’re looking forward to Pittsburgh coming off a weekend where we qualified well at Mid Ohio and had fun racing with Brandon Dixon in the first race and good battles with Gawry and Weitzenhof in the second race. So, I know Tumenas Motorsports has the speed in the car and I can make it happen as the driver. We should be in the mix at here.”

Chris Gumprecht, No 97 Entry:

“I’m looking forward to going back to PittRace, the addition to the track was great and the new curbs should make it even more enjoyable. If we can finish in the top 10 it will be a good weekend, it’s a fun track.”

Atlantic

David Grant, No. 29 Entry:

“I must qualify up front to have a chance to win again. The aero conditions with Atlantic makes it difficult to pass while in dirty air behind another car. Whether in the FA or the F2000 last year, the track is very technical, so consistency throughout the race is extremely important.”

Ryan Norman, No 48 Entry:

“My expectation for the weekend is to hopefully win both races and extend my championship lead. I will take it session by session learning the track and how I can make the car better for the race. I’ve never been to this track before but I have been studying a lot of video and taking notes so I will be prepared and hopefully will not take too long to get used to the track. The challenge will be Keith and David Grant. As always it should be fun competition and an opportunity to become stronger as a driver.”

Lee Alexander, No. 8 Entry:

“It is my first time at PittRace. I’m looking forward to it. The track looks like it will be a lot of fun. Usually I can run a new track on my cheapo simulator to learn which directions to turn. I couldn’t find a virtual version of this track though so I’ll just have to do it the old fashioned way.”
