Bellm Takes Momentum into Season Finale

NIXA, Mo. (November 11, 2016) – A second full year on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour comes to a conclusion this weekend for Kyle Bellm.

And Bellm and the Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) No. 14k Sprint Car team take some momentum into this weekend’s season-ending double at Yuma’s Cocopah Speedway after a sixth-place finish in last weekend’s Fall Fling at Creek County Speedway.

“I feel like we’re getting back to where we should be with the car,” the Nixa, MO, racer says.  “We’re taking some momentum into this weekend, hopefully we can finish strong.”

Last weekend’s action at Creek County Speedway near Tulsa got off to a rough start for the driver of the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision machine.

“Several guys got tangled up right in front of us and we had nowhere to go,” Bellm said of a qualifying race incident that resulted in getting upside down in Friday’s action.

“We pieced enough together to take a provisional to start and park in the feature,” Bellm relates.

Saturday was strong for the driver that posted a runner-up finish at Creek County Speedway during Speedweek earlier in the year.

“We went from third to second in the heat and then won the qualifier from fourth,” the driver of VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions entry said.

That put the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care entry ninth in the feature grid, and Bellm wasted little time working his way forward.

“We were up to fourth, then something went wrong with the bleeder in the right rear,” Bellm says.

Even with the faulty bleeder, Bellm brought the Schaeffer Oil/Prater Designs/Racinboys entry across the stripe in sixth.

“If that bleeder doesn’t stick and the right rear gains two pounds of air, we would have been third,” Bellm says.  “It was still a good night though, we have things going the right direction.”

It’s a direction Bellm plans to continue in this weekend’s series finale in Arizona.

2016 Quick Stats:  46 races, 1 win, 12 top-fives, 16 top-tens.
