March to Bring Racing Back to Evergreen Raceway

St. Johns, PA (3/5/2017) Spring is just around the corner, which means that drivers and racing fans alike are antsy to get back to Evergreen Raceway. Although the speedway already held two of their three ‘Triple Crown Series’ shows, warmer weather is expected to help boost the third and final event of the series on Saturday, March 18. Less than a week after that event, Evergreen will be back in action with “Four Banger Sunday” on Sunday, March 26.
Fans that attend “March Enduro Madness” won’t only see each event winner, but also the final Triple Crown Series champions for the 4-Cylinder and 6/8-Cylinder Enduro divisions.

This event will take place, rain, snow, sleet or shine. It will only get postponed if the weather and road conditions to the track are simply too dangerous for driver and spectator travels to the speedway.

Drivers can save $10 by pre-registering. The pre-registration fee is $40 per event. If drivers are not pre-registered on race day, the fee to compete is $50. The pre-entry deadline is March 15.

Coughlin Shows Some Peachstate Prowess at Atlanta

HAMPTON, GA – Cody Coughlin’s first career start at Atlanta Motor Speedway can be summed up in one word: Loose.  Coughlin fought an extremely loose Toyota Tundra for all 130 laps of Saturday’s Active Pest Control 200 for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series before eventually finishing in the 16th position, the same position in which he started the race.

Atlanta Motor Speedway is known for seeing vehicles slide around on its 20-year-old racing surface.  The 21-year-old Coughlin only had one test session of experience on the slippery surface before the race weekend began.

“It’s a tough race track,” said Coughlin after the race.  “We battled a loose-in and loose-off condition pretty much all race long, but I think that’s just what happens here.”

Zarrella Enjoying Daytona 500 Victory

Jeff Zarrella reflected Sunday night after Stewart-Haas Racing and Kurt Busch captured their first Daytona 500.

A lap 128 crash sent Busch into the turn 3 wall and collected teammates Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, and Danica Patrick.

The former Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion pitted multiple times to fix a left rear tire rub. The crew changed four tires again after Busch reported it was still rubbing. Zarrella saw the right side tires had no rubs. The team used that set of tires with 3 laps on it instead of a set of stickers. The team did not have time to glue the lug nuts so they carried the lug nuts to change tires.
