Adam Killingbeck and Bob Palmer got together exiting turn four on the opening circuit and hit the front stretch wall to bring out the race’s first caution. Josh Hill would lead the field as Bob Bogner raced in second. Jeff Szafraniec raced in third place and both Bogner and Szafraniec caught race leader hill. Bogner would take the lead from Hill with seven laps remaining. Szafraniec took second away from Hill with four laps remaining. The caution would come out with two laps remaining when Marty Hughes hit the wall and lost his right front tire. Bogner would hold off Szafraniec to score the win. Kenny Hejna and Darren Lenhardt competed in the Talking Phone Book Super Six feature as part of Hornet main event. Hejna pulled away from Lenhardt but Hejna went to the pits about the midway point. Matt Hirschman Batting 0.750 at Evergreen Raceway

St. Johns, PA (9/11/2016) – Perfect racing weather and conditions set the stage for the first regular event of Evergreen’s ‘September to Remember’ on Sunday. Following a short moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks fifteen years ago, Matt Hirschman of Northampton started from the pole position and wired the 50-lap Tour Type Modified field to claim the $2,000 prize. In only his second career Street Stock start, Rich Paciotti of Kunkletown drove away with the victory and Steve Heckman of Gilbert bested the Factory Stock field en route to his second win of the season. Brayden Spencer of Shickshinny was nearly wrecked on the final lap of the Four Cylinder feature, but held on to take his third win and the $400 prize. Dylan Slepian of Long Island grabbed the INEX Legends victory and Sean Verwys took the INEX Bandolero win.

Following heat races, the top nine Tour Type Modified drivers redrew for staring positions, with hopes of getting a top five starting spot in the 50-lap main event. Following bad luck in and a third place finish in the heat race, Matt Hirschman drew the pole position.

Hirschman led the first circuit over Sal Accardi, Bobby Jones, Brandon Oltra and John Markovic. Eight quick laps clicked off until the yellow flag waved when Paul Hartwig, Jr. spun in turns three and four. Green flag racing resumed with Hirschman on the point, but Brian Sones had cracked the top five.

“I have to thank the Barry family, my parents, Overhead Door Company of Worcester, Waddell Communications, all the sponsors on the car and Chris Merchant for stepping up and being my spotter, even though he has a hectic schedule,” Lamothe said.

Plans for Lamothe have changed since November, when he was considering an ACT Late Model and 600 dirt car races in Pennsylvania. February races in the Winter Heat Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Winter Nationals at Auburndale Speedway are possible.
