MototownUSA Crowns Seven 12 Pack Indoor Champs

Sunday Finale, Other Car, Motorcycle Racing Cancelled

Windsor, CT — MototownUSA has proclaimed six drivers as inaugural Bud Light 12 Pack Indoor Racing Series champions since cancelling its scheduled Noon Sunday April 20 finale.

MototownUSA founder Tommy DeFranzo said as of 4 p.m. April 19, that all racing and open practice has been “cancelled until further notice.” Similar announcements are found on the track’s answering machine and on MototownUSA.com.

Hall, D. Jacobs Last-To-First in MototownUSA Mains

Geuerard Doubles Again;  Morgan, R. Charland Also Win

Windsor, CT — Ray Hall, of Monterey, Mass., and Darren Jacobs, of Springfield, Mass., came from last place to win their respective MototownUSA Bud Light 12 Pack Indoor Racing Series stick car features Sunday afternoon.

Marc “Mr. MototownUSA” Guerard, of Hartford, Conn., won his third 1,200 c.c. and 750 c.c. sprint car features of the series. Timex Morgan, of Rochester, Mass., and Ryan Charland, of Somers, Conn., won their respective third and sixth 600 c.c. micro sprint and Modified Lite mains. The indoor one-quarter- mile clay oval’s program held a moment of silence to honor the late North Eastern Midget Association driver Shane Howard.

Phillips, Smith & Perrego Make Mototown History

Guerard, Charland, D. Jacobs and Rocco Keep Winning

Windsor, CT — Justin Phillips, of W. Suffield, Conn., Ryan Smith, of Kunkletown, Pa., and Anthony Perrego, of Montgomery, N.Y. made MototownUSA Bud Light 12 Pack Indoor Racing Series history while winning their respective features Sunday afternoon.

Marc Guerard, of Hartford, Ryan Charland, of Somers, Darren Jacobs, of Springfield, Mass. and Keith Rocco, of Wallingford, meanwhile added to their feature victory totals on the indoor one-quarter-mile clay oval.

Lou Cicconi Adds MototownUSA to Victory Roster Sunday

M. Norrie, Guerard, R. Charland, J. Jacobs, Pepin Share Spoils

Windsor, CT — Lou Cicconi, of Aston, Pa., added MototownUSA to his resume of indoor race victories by winning the 600cc micro sprint main here Sunday afternoon.

Matt Norrie, of W. Suffield, Conn., held on for his third 1,200 cc. mini sprint main of the Bud Light 12 Pack Race Series. Marc Guerard, of Hartford, won the 750cc micro main over former NASCAR regional modified stock car champion Ted Christopher.

Jay Pepin, of Ridgefield, held off class king Jonathen Routhier, of Canaan, in a 17-car eight cylinder street stock feature. Friday night class winners Joe Jacobs, of E. Hartford, and Ryan Charland, of Somers, continued their respective four cylinder street stock and Modifed Lite winning streaks.

Keith Rocco Gets Upset MototownUSA Stock Triumph

Windsor, CT — Keith Rocco, of Wallingford, Conn., upset eight cylinder street stock king Jonathen Routhier in MototownUSA Bud Light 12 Pack Racing Series’ last Friday night program of the season.

 

Ryan Charland, of Somers, returned from his Florida Speedweeks racing to halt Sherman Baumann’s Modified Light winning streak. Joe Jacobs, of E. Hartford, and Timex Morgan, of Rochester, Mass., won their respective second four-cylinder street stock and 600cc micro sprint feature laurels. Marc Guerard, of Hartford won his second Mototown 750cc micro and 1,200cc mini sprint main “double.”

Broderick, T. Mogan Among First Friday Winners

Guerard, Baumann, D. Jacobs, Routhier Share Spoils

Windsor, CT — Timex Morgan, of Rochester, N.Y., and Jimmy “Bubba” Broderick, of Brookfield, Conn., were among the winners of MototownUSA’s first Bud Light 12 Pack Series Friday night features here.

Morgan preserved his Mototown 600cc micro sprint drivers points lead by winning the 20-lap feature. Morgan led the entire green-to-checkered flag headliner over “Liquid” Lou Cicconi. Cicconi, in what he said was his first dirt track appearance in 12 years, won the 10-lap heat in a borrowed car.

Anthony Nocella took third among the feature’s seven finishers and second to Morgan, a New York Modified Midget Series regular, after five of 12 Bud Light rounds run since Jan. 6. MototownUSA officials have added an April 27th finale, replacing a snowed-out December first round, to complete the 12 pack.

Eggimann & Crooker Latest Mototown USA Feature Winners

Norrie, Baumann, Jacobs and Routhier Make Victory Lane Returns

Windsor, CT — William Eggimann, of South Hadley, Mass., and Richard Crooker, of Nashua, N.H., became the latest Bud Light 12 Pack Racing Series feature winners here in Mototown USA Sunday afternoon.

Eggimann won his first 750cc micro sprint main in four tries by staying ahead of Marc Guerard. The 20-lap feature victory plus taking the 10-lap heat also vaults Eggimann past Guerard in that division’s points championship lead - 302 to 282 points.

Former NASCAR regional champion Ted Christopher, fresh from his Daytona Prototype run at the Rolex 24 at Daytona Jan. 26-27, took third. Racing broadcaster Jack Arute and Chester Hinkle rounded out the top five of seven finishers.

Wood, Bauman, William, & Hall Score 12 Pack Upsets

Windsor, CT — Nutmeg State drivers Rich Wood, Jr., Sherman Bauman and Patrick William plus Bay Stater Ray Hall scored upset Bud Light 12 Pack Race Series feature victories here in Mototown USA Sunday afternoon.

Wood, of Suffield, Conn., won his first 1,200cc. mini sprint main in three Mototown USA tries by ousting front row mate  Paul Corazzo, Sr. at the 20-lap race’s start. The duo earned their grid spots after winning their respective 10-lap heats.

Mototown USA 12-Packers Vied in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, NJ — Ted Christopher, of Plainville, Conn., and Jimmy Broderick, of Brookfield, used their MototownUSA 12 Pack Series break to vie for Boardwalk Hall Atlantic City Indoor Racing honors and cash here Saturday Night.

Christopher and Broderick were among the 97 three quarter midget and 600cc micro sprint drivers vying for Saturday night’s M&R Midget A-Main’s 26 places. The fourth annual ACIR Gamblers Classic on the former Atlantic City Convention Center’s one- eighth-mile concrete oval is a revival of 1937-81 full and TQ midget racing.

Six Split Mototown USA Bud Light Spoils Sunday

W. Suffield’s Norrie 1,200cc Mini Sprint’s New Victor

Windsor, CT — Matt Norrie, of W. Suffield, Conn., became the Bud Light 12 Pack Race Series’ freshest feature winner here in MototownUSA Sunday afternoon.

Norrie used his drawn pole position to hold off DIRT 358 Modified stock car maven Mark Flach, Jr. all 20 laps of the 1,200cc mini sprint main. The Day Hill Automotive No. 16M Henchcraft-Suzuki GXSR pilot endured seven restarts on the indoor clay one-quarter-mile oval before securing his victory over Flach and series inaugural winner Marc Guerard. Norrie also ousted Guerard to lead that division’s drivers points table after two of 12 scheduled races.

Guerard Doubles in Mototown USA Debut

Windsor, CT — Marc Guerard, of Hartford, won two of the first six auto racing features ever held indoors here at MototownUSA Sunday night.Guerard took the lead from Jimmy “Bubba” Broderick on the opening lap of the 1,200 cc. mini sprint main’s opening lap in a 24-lap marathon. The local engine builder had earlier came from last to first in the preceeding 750 cc. micro sprint main.

Lex Burritt, of Redding, Conn., started writing MototownUSA history by winning the 600 cc. micro sprint feature. Ryan Charland, of Somers, and Bob Charland, of Stafford Springs, finished one-two in the modified lite main. Darren Jacobs, of Springfield Mass., and Jonathan Routhier, of Canaan swept theire respective four- and eight- cylinder street stock main.
