LABATT USA Products to Join Forces with Stafford Teams in ‘97
Stafford Springs, CT — America’s Specialty Beer Company, Labatt USA, has announced an association with car owners Ron Paul and Len Fletcher for the entire 1997 Stafford Motor Speedway season. Labatt USA will use its Labatt Blue and Rolling Rock brands to initiate an assault on the ’97 Late Model title.
“The team is very excited to have Labatt Blue on board,” exclaims car owner Ron Paul. “They are well represented in all types of racing and we look forward to successively representing them at Stafford.”
Labatt Blue, Canada’s number-one beer, is Labatt USA’s flagship product within the U.S. Currently, the Labatt brand is the fourth largest U.S. import in a segment of more than 400 beers.
Fletcher, who fields cars for driver Gary Fioramanti, will display the metallic green and white colors of Rolling Rock Beer in search for his first championship in Stafford’s highly competitive Late Model division.
“We are looking forward to our first season at stafford,” relays Fletcher. “It’s a great facility and the perfect place to display the Rolling Rock colors.”
Rolling Rock is the leading domestic specialty beer in the U.S. and is Labatt USA’s top-selling brand. Rolling Rock has more than doubled in size over the past seven years.
Based in Darien, Connecticut, Labatt USA’s Tecate brand is the primary sponsor of Adrian Fernandez on the CART series. The company looks to Stafford and its Late Model division as a means to spark brand awareness at the grassroots level of NASCAR.
“I believe the Stafford Motor Speedway will enable us to build strong brand recognition with NASCAR fans,” says Labatt USA’s Thane Pressman, President/CEO. “We are pleased with Stafford’s television coverage, the facility and its professionalism. We have two good teams and we’re all excited about the upcoming season.”
Both Labatt USA cars will be part of the season opening CARQUEST Spring Sizzler on April 26 and 27. Sizzler weekend will feature a 200-lap NASCAR Featherlite Modified Tour event accompanied by the WRS Modifieds, Prostocks, Late Models, Dare Stocks and the New England Legends Tour.
