Qualifying Procedure: All cars will time trial. Top 20 cars advance to Feature. Fastest qualifier will draw to determine re-draw of top six, eight or 10. Positions 21 through 24 have been established for up to four additional starting positions which will be available to any of the top-35 eligible drivers in current 1997 NASCAR Featherlite Modified Tour Championship points standings, and positions 25 through 28 have been established for up to four additional starting positions which will be available to any of the top 10 drivers in current 1997 Riverhead Raceway Modified track points standings who have entered the event, but failed to qualify for one of the original starting positions. Official points standings, not time trial speeds, will determine these positions.
