Seymour Aces Midgets, Dion in Pro Stocks
Tonight we held the “Boston Louie Seymour” Memorial race here at the Seekonk Speedway. It was a perfect night with a banner crowd ready to witness the evening’s events.
The N.E.M.A. Midget feature went off without a hitch. Drew Fornoro in the Gene Angelillo #45 took the early lead and looked like he would walk away with the silver. However, when a caution was thrown on the field it tightened everything up and gave Bobby Seymour the advantage that he needed to take the lead away from Drew. What a mob scene in victory lane as the Seymours along with well crewmembers, fans and well wishers all crowded around Bobby to congratulate him on his Victory. A tearful photo session and interview with the Seymour family were commemorating the event followed.
In the Pro Stock’s it was a great race for the Tantasia group as Wayne Dion worked his way through traffic and took the lead in the closing laps of the feature. Again, it looked as though Mike Hassell might make his debut in Victory Lane, but again fell just short of the checkered flag. This young man is long overdue. He manages to hold onto a good number of laps each week and then just before the checkered flag drops he ends up in the bride’s maid’s tribute.

The Sportsman saw last years Champion James Lawrence in for the first win of the season. It has taken some time for James to make his way to the laurels. Trials and tribulations have taken their toll on this young man this season. But, he is not the type to complain, he see to it that if things don’t go his way this week, go back to the garage and make it better for the following one. This attitude has certainly paid off for him ion the past and it was great to see that it once again has taken him on the trip that he deserves.

Great racing once again in the street stock division. Battling for the lead were Bob Bettencourt who is always a strong competitor along with Eric Snow of Seekonk. Snow has worked hard to prove himself this season and has run some fine races, it was good to see him finish up front. But, the man of the hour was once again Stacey Moulton he was unbeatable. The Victory Lane ceremony was a joyful one as he let his fans know that he was to become a married man on Sunday August 8th. Congratulations to Stacey and his new bride.
