McKennedy’s Sprint to Sugar Hill Checkers
Jon McKennedy from Chelmsford, MA survived one early caution that sent point leader, Sean Caisse slamming into the frontstretch wall. McKennedy went on to dismantle the field for the Mini-Sprint win.
In the early going, Sean Caisse, of Pelham, NH lost control of his #10 sprint while making his bid for the lead. Skeeter Bearce of Lunenburg, MA driving the #1 New England Kart Center sponsored sprint, also plagued with mechanical difficulties was forced to withdraw from the 25-lap feature.
On the re-start, it was McKennedy’s Coca-Cola towing #79 blistering out front uncontested. Jay Caswell quickly tucked his #77 tightly in behind McKennedy as the two streaked nose to tail. Corey McKennedy slipped his #29 under Caswell at the halfway mark and set his sights on his brother out front.
Jon crossed the stripe first followed by Corey Mason of Lowell, MA in his #12, #29 Corey McKennedy, and #77 of Jay Caswell of Tewksbury, MA rounding out the top finishers.
Jason Routhier of Londonderry, NH once again left the competition standing dazed as he dominated the YSR Modified Motorcycle feature event.
Routhier stretched out his lead as his #2 bike blistered through the entrance of the interloop like no other competitor. At the stripe, it was Routhier with the win. Chuck Come of Claremont, NH snatched second with his ##7 bike. #6, Brian Bunnell of Newport, NH, #10, Billy Saine of Lebanon, NH, and #13, Brad Jacques of Claremont, NH rounded out the top five.
Kyle Carpenter wrote his name in Victory Lane once again. Carpenter held off a hard-charging Bob Baillargeon of Nottingham, NH for the 25-lap Stock Medium win.
Carpenter grabbed the early lead. Skeeter Bearce of Lunenburg, MA quickly tucked his #54 into second. Bill Richards of White River Junction, VT took up the rear as the top three screamed down the backstretch nose to tail. Baillargeon moved his #82 up to third as he put the pressure on the #54 of Bearce for second. Baillargeon lassoed Bearce and set his sights on the leader.
Carpenter and Baillargeon screamed down the backstretch nose to tail. The two separated themselves from the rest of the field.
At the stripe, it was Carpenter with the win. Baillargeon gobbled up second. Bearce landed third in his #54. Christian Briggs, #99 of Mattapoisett, MA, and Bill Richards #07 rounded out the top five.
