Claremont Speedway Prepares For 2000 Season
Claremont Speedway Readies For NWRS LAVALLEY’S 2000 Season
CLAREMONT NH: As Claremont Speedway gears up for it’s 54th year of racing, excitement and enthusiasm is high among drivers, sponsors, car owners, and track management,” exclaims Brian Patrick, Claremont’s new Director of Marketing.
Patrick has every reason to be excited about the 2000 season. Claremont now races under the NASCAR banner participating in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. The track has joined nearly 100 tracks across the USA to offer wheel-to-wheel action as the Modifieds vie for NASCAR points in the NWRS. In the second tier, The Exide ShorTrack Series, the Late Models are featured each racing evening competing for points. The Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, and Mini Stocks will round out each night’s action. “The way that inquiries are coming in from racers we expect to see a consolation race each evening in at least 4 divisions this year,” states Sherrie Fleury-Lanou, Claremont’s promoter.
Both Lanou and Patrick look for a record-breaking season at the 1/3rd mile banked asphalt oval for the summer of 2000 as the phone has been ringing off the wall at the track office with inquiries. Lanou explained that Claremont Speedway will begin registering cars for the 2000 season at Race-A-Rama at the Big E fair Ground March 3-5, 2000. The Claremont racing season will open April 15, 2000, with the annual race car show at Fleury’s Small Engines in Newport NH.
Patrick also announced today that Lavalley Building Supply has signed on again this season as the series main sponsor. “To add to the excitement at Claremont this year,” continued Patrick, “keep a sharp eye on newspaper ads and listen for radio commercials that will announce special events to go along with the action-packed racing that Claremont Speedway has been famous for over the past 53 years.”
