Thompson Speedway Banquets Sold Out

Thompson, CT —  The annual awards banquets for the 2000 racing season at the Thompson International Speedway are complete sellouts. Never before have so many tickets gone so fast for these annual affairs.

The track will hold two evenings of awards banquets. Friday, January 26th, will be the night that the track honors competitors in the Strictly Stock, Mini Stock and Pro Four Modified divisions. The very next night, competitors in the WRS Pro Stocks, Sunoco Modifieds and Late Models will be the center of attention.

Both banquets will be held at the Raceway Restaurant and Lounge on the grounds of the speedway. A social hour will begin each evening at 6:30 PM with dinner served at 7:30 PM. The awards presentations will follow dinner.

In addition to honoring the 2000 track champions, Thompson will also honor those who managed to finish in the top ten in track points in each division. There will be a host of special awards along with the annual NASCAR awards.

In other news from the newly paved speedway, the deadline to renew car numbers has come and gone. Anyone wishing to secure a car number for the 2001 season should call the track office to check on the availability of the number desired. Car numbers will now be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Car registration is the best it has ever been leading up to a new season. Each of the track’s divisions has had extremely high renewal rates and members of the management team are very happy with the pre-registrations received prior to the January 15, 2001 deadline for renewal.

Racing rules are still available for anyone whom has not yet received a copy. Those interested may call the track office to receive their free copy. Each rule book is made out by racing division, so any requests for rules must include the division that the competitor wishes to join.

For rules, questions, car numbers or any other information, call the Thompson International Speedway track office at: (860)-923-2280. Winter hours of operation for the office are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 9 AM and 1 PM. The office is closed on Tuesdays.
