Szegedy, Lia on Front Row for CARQUEST Fall Final at Stafford
Stafford Springs, CT — Challenger Todd Szegedy (No. 2 Wisk/Snuggle Ford) and points leader Donny Lia (No. 4 Dodge) will start on the front row for Sunday’s Carquest Fall Final at Stafford (Conn.) Motor Speedway after Saturday’s redraw following qualifying.
Lia and Szegedy had the third and fourth fastest times, respectively, during Saturday’s time trials. Following the redraw of the top eight spots, they will start on the front row.
Lia leads Szegedy by 155 points and can earn the title by finishing ninth or better Sunday and by starting the season final at Thompson (
Eric Beers (No. 94 Sunoco Chevrolet) earned the Budweiser Pole Award with his fast lap of 18.267 seconds, just edging out Doug Coby (18.270). Coby ((No. 46 Crossroads RV Center/Viveiros Insurance Chevrolet) was qualifying for Dick Houlihan, who is expected to be in the car for Sunday’s race. Beers redrew seventh.
