Stafford Releases an Electrifying 2008 Event Schedule
Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway has released its 2008 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event schedule which will showcase the track’s SK Modified® and Late Model divisions in two extra distance events as well as four Whelen Modified Tour events. SMS will host a total of 23 racing events, with the 2008 NASCAR season kicking off with the 37th Annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler presented by CARQUEST April 25-27, and concluding with the 36th annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend on September 26-28.
Stafford’s Friday night NASCAR Whelen All-American Series programs will once again consist of five divisions, the SK Modifieds®, Late Models, SK Lights, Limited Late Models, and DARE Stocks. Headlining the weekly divisions is the return of the SK Modified and Late Model 150 events to the schedule after a 4-year absence. The 5th annual CARQUEST Auto Parts SK Modified® 150 will be run on Friday, July 25th and the 4th annual Late Model 150 will be run on Friday, August 22nd. Both the SK Modified® and Late Model divisions will also run 100-lap feature events with the 14th annual Late Model 100 scheduled for Friday, May 9th, and the 35th annual Coors Light SK Modified® 100 scheduled for Friday, June 6th.
Stafford Motor Speedway will once again play host to four Whelen Modified Tour events, the 37th annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler on April 27, the 18th Connecticut Classic 150 on May 23rd, the 18th New England Dodge Dealers 150 on August 8th, and the CARQUEST Fall Final 150 on September 28th. The ISMA Supermodifeds will return to Stafford for a 50-lap feature event on Tuesday, July 8th as part of the 5th annual CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday program along with the NEMA Midgets and the Pro-4 Modifieds.
Stafford Motor Speedway will host a total of four fireworks dates with CARQUEST Dealer Night on Friday, May 30th, the 8th annual Summer Blast-Off on Friday, June 20th, Friday, July 4th, and Friday, August 29th. For the June 20th Summer Blast-Off program, all children ages 14 & Under will be admitted free of charge to the general admission grandstands when accompanied by an adult.
The USHRA Monster Trucks return to Stafford Motor Speedway in 2008 with two shows on Saturday, July 26th, and one show on Sunday, July 27th. SMS will also host two Connecticut Motorcycle Swap Meets on April 6th and October 26th and two Ty-Rods Automotive Swap Meets on April 13th and October 19th.
Stafford Motor Speedway has 2008 season ticket packages available now, which are good for all NASCAR Race events, as well as the CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday program, but do not include admission for Monster Truck shows, Swap Meets, or Wild Thing Kart events.
