PASS Sportsman Back On Track for 2008

Naples ME — After a remarkable inaugural season the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Pullen Heavy Industries Sportsman division will return in 2008 with a seven race confirmed schedule that will see the popular class in action at four Maine and New Hampshire speedways.

Their 2008 campaign gets underway on April 19th at Beech Ridge Speedway, and returns to the Scarborough Maine oval on September 19-21 for the big PASS 400 weekend. Sportsman racers will make the drive to Speedway 95 on May 3rd for their only 2008 appearance at the Hermon Maine speed plant. Three trips to Wiscasset (ME) Raceway are on tap for June 15th and August 17th as well as the season’s grand finale championship event on October 5th. All Star Speedway in Epping NH rounds out the confirmed schedule with a June 27th date. One additional Sportsman division date is currently under negotiation.

Seventy-six racers attempted to qualify for one or more PASS Sportsman division events in 2007, a tremendous turnout for a new touring series by any measure. But PASS President Tom Mayberry wasn’t surprised by the popularity of the new division, or by the level of competition it provided.” Honestly, I think some of the best racers in the northeast race this type of car at their home tracks,” said Mayberry,” and I felt that  they deserved to get out to a few new tracks to showcase their talents. The Sportsman division provided some of the closest competition of any PASS division in 2007, and I expect more of the same for 2008.”

The 2008 PASS Sportsman division rules are available now by visiting www.proallstarsseries.com. For further information contact Scott Reed at 207-625-3230 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
