NASCAR Will Have a Major Presence at Motorsports 2008

Atlantic City, NJ — NASCAR, considered the premier sanctioning organization in motorsports, will have a major presence in the huge Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels. The show, filling close to 300,000 square feet of the Atlantic City Convention Center, opens at noon on January 18th and continues through until 5 pm Sunday, January 20th.

The NASCAR display will cover 3,000 square feet of the show. It is the first time in a number of years that the Daytona Beach, Florida based sanctioning organization has been part of the show and it is the first time that they have taken a major role in the 23 year history of the show.

“We are honored to have NASCAR participating in Motorsports 2008 with such an expansive display,” said event promoter Len Sammons. “While they are a leader in the motorsports industry, their effort shows they are still working hard to promote racing at the grassroots level.”

All of the NASCAR developmental series will be represented in the display with eight different race cars.

Included in the display will be the “new” spec engine that will be legal in both the Camping World Series and both Whelen Modified Tours.

Ted Marsh’s Camping World Series car will be on display along with Jeff Earnhardt’s DEI Camping World Series car along with the No. 84 Camping World Series car. All will have the new spec engine while Marsh’s Camping World car will have the new composite body.

There will be two Whelen Tour Modified cars that run in the Northern Series.

The Whelen All-American Series will be represented by a Chad Sinon owned BPG Racing Modified that is driven at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway by Duane Howard. In addition there will be a NASCAR Late Model stock car.

Topping off the display will be Andrew Ranger’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series entry. Ranger is the 2007 champion.

Several key people from NASCAR will be on hand at the display and participating in the two day Promoter’s Summit that will be part of the big motorsports weekend. Representing NASCAR will be Brett Bodine, Bob Duvall, Richard Buck, Chad Little and a number of other key personnel.
Jim Hunter, Vice President of Corporate Communications for NASCAR, will be delivering a “State of the Sport” presentation at the Promoter’s Summit. Hunter is a huge supporter of short track auto racing.
