Jimmy Blewett Files Mod Nats 150 Entry

Waterford, CT — Jimmy Blewett and car owner Eddie Partridge have filed an entry for the $20,000 SK-150 at Waterford Speedbowl’s 12th annual Budweiser Modified Nationals April 12-13.

Involved in a controversial call last year, Blewett returns to take on the strongest entry list in the event’s history. Led by Jeff Pearl, Frank Ruocco, Ted Christopher and Dennis Gada, all looking for their second “150” win, the list includes Matt Hirschman, Kenny Horton, Rob Summers, Jeff Malave and Woody Pitkat.

Rob Janovic Jr., the 2007 track champion, Dennis Charette, ageless Don Fowler and youngsters Jeffrey Paul and Tyler Chadwick join Pearl and Gada on the “home team.”

The $5,000-to-win “150” is the centerpiece of the 10-division Modified Nationals including
extra-distance starts for the Speedbowl’s Late Model, Sportsman and Mini Stock divisions. The Northeastern Midget Association, Pro4 Modifieds, AllStar Race Trucks, Allison Legacy Cars and NEMA Lites are also on the agenda.

Coming off a strong performance in Florida, Blewett will be in the limelight immediately. His 14.233 seconds “150” qualifying record will be the target when SK time trials kick off Saturday (April 12) action. The other divisions will qualify through heats. Saturday’s docket also includes features for the Legends, Pro4s, Trucks, Legacy Cars and NEMA Lites.

The traditional Pit Party puts things in motion on Sunday followed by a 25-lap NEMA feature. A 50-lapper for the Late Models and 30 lappers for the Sportsman
and Mini Stocks precede the “150.”
