Weather Stalls Thursday Night Thompson
Thompson, CT — On June 5, 2008, persistent wet conditions forced the postponement of Thursday Night Thompson Thunder. A weather pattern of persistent and nagging light rain settled into the area shortly after practice was concluded for all six NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions hindering any track drying efforts. Officials conducting the driver’s meeting asked the competitors how they felt about the conditions and they express a desire not to race. Rain checks will be honored next Thursday Night, June 12 when all six divisions will be back in action. The Thompson Night festivities, for local residents, will also be celebrated next week.
In two weeks, on June 19th, the Whelen Modified Tour will be in competition for 75-laps of green flag racing. For ticket prices and complete information log on to www.thompsonspeedway.com or contact the Speedway hotline at (860) 923-2280.
