Doug Coby to Pilot Preece #40 at Loudon
Hi all,
Just a quick note to let you all know that I have picked up a ride in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race this Satruday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway! I’ll be driving the black #40 owned by the Preece family. Ryan Preece is driving the #3 for the Boehler’s this year and his father wanted to bring their car to Loudon to get some exposure for their sponsors, so I was asked to drive it. It’s a brand new Troyer car with a fresh engine, so we should be ready to take a shot at a podium finish.
Most of you know that Loudon is one of my favorite places to race and I’ve had some good runs there in the past. Here’s a quick rundown of my races there:
2003 Race 1 (#28) – Start 24, Finish 23
2003 Race 2 (#28) – Start 9, Finish 12
2004 Race 1 (#28) – Start 37, Finish 33 (anyone remember that run in Sylvester’s
backup car from 37th to 2nd before losing the engine?!)
2004 Race 2 (#28) – Start 20, Finish 10
2005 Race 1 (#77) – Start 8, Finish 4 (Led 15 laps; Leader with 2 to go but got
shoved back to 4th in the draft)
2005 Race 2 (#77) – Start 7, Finish 7 (Led 11 laps; Shifter broke and had to use
vice grips!)
2006 Race 1 (#77) – Start 7, Finish 33 (Led 3 laps; Wrecked while going for 3rd)
2006 Race 2 (#77) – Start 14, Finish 33 (LR hub broke on lap 3)
2007 Race 1 – Not entered
2007 Race 2 (#22) – Start and park for the #2 team
In addition, I’ll still be competing in the #15 SK Modified at Stafford this Friday
and the #10 at Waterford on Saturday night, so it’s going to be a busy weekend!
We’ll be sure to let you know how the races go, and we’ll also have another Johnson
Motorsports update for you soon. Have a good one.
