Pepsi Full Fender Frenzy Set for Saturday at Thompson

Thompson, CT — Thompson Speedway’s Full Fender Frenzy is set for green flag racing this Saturday. Five different racing divisions make up this exciting race program.

The Pepsi Full Fender Frenzy headlines the NASCAR Camping World East series, the Pro All Star (PASS) Pro Stocks, and Thompson’s Late Models, Limited Sportsman and Mini Stock divisions.

The NASCAR Camping World Series East will compete in a 100-lap main event while the PASS series will race for 75 laps. Thompson’s Late Models, Limited Sportsman and Mini stocks will compete in 25, 20 and 15 lap events respectively.

The action gets underway when the grandstands open at 12:30 PM this Saturday. Qualifying of the race cars will begin at 4: 15 PM and the first of five main events will go green at roughly 6:00 PM.

The NASCAR Camping World East series is a developmental racing division for the Daytona Beach, Florida based NASCAR. The division is in its second year of existence and has generated huge interest everywhere they have raced.

This talent-laden division boasts teams owned by some of the biggest names in all of NASCAR and is proud of the young talented drivers that make up a good portion of the roster of drivers. Add to that a mix of many veteran drivers and you’ve got the ingredients needed for an exciting race program.

Former Thompson International Speedway “favorite son,” Steve Park will be one of the many racing stars on hand to do wheel-to-wheel battle on the high banks of Thompson. Park will be joined by current Camping World Series points leader, Austin Dillon, Jeffrey Earnhardt, Brian Ickler and many more talented young drivers. Veterans like Matt Kobyluck, Brad Leighton, Eddie MacDonald, Bryon Chew and many more will round out the field of over 30 race cars that have filed entries.

The Pro All Star Series (PASS) will also play a vital role in the excitement of the Full Fender Frenzy program. Over the years, every time the PASS series rolls into Thompson, fans look for exciting, high-speed action from this very successful touring division. PASS also boasts an impressive roster of ultra-talented race teams. Drives Mike and Ben Rowe, Cassius Clark, Kelly Moore, and other veterans will have their hands full with a group of youngsters lead by Worcester, MA sensation, Derek Ramstrom. Ramstrom is on a hot streak at Thompson having won his last three Pro Stock races.

The Thompson Late Models, Limited Sportsman and Mini Stocks will shine brightly under the lights on Saturday. Jeff Zuidema has been on a tear in the Late Model division and will take on some of the best Late Model drivers to be found anywhere.

Larry Barnett, the most successful driver in the Limited Sportsman division, has faced stiff competition all season long from a host of drivers who have risen to the top of their craft in this exciting division. Add to all of this the thrill-a-minute Mini Stocks and the Pepsi Full Fender Frenzy program is a must see event for any race fan.
