Rains Cancel Thompson’s TNTT
Thompson, CT — Heavy rains and severe thunderstorms caused the management of the Thompson International Speedway to cancel their race program for Thursday, July 24th.
A two-day rain storm produced torrential downpours and flooding of the Thompson complex.
The event will not be rescheduled. However, the racing action will resume on Thursday, July 31st and will follow the track’s published schedule. That schedule includes a special 25-lap feature event for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Mini Stocks.
A busy racing schedule for the remainder of the year includes the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on Thursday, August 14th and a 50-lap special event for the Sunoco Modifieds on August 28th. September will also be a busy month with the annual fan favorite, Modified Mania and the final NASCAR and Thompson points races in each division to determine track champions for the 2008 racing season.
Next week’s racing will begin with qualifying at 5:15 PM with feature event racing slated for 6:15 PM. More information is available on the Thompson International Speedway web page. www.thompsonspeedway.com.
