NEMA’s Frankoski & TSR Motorsports Announce Split – YankeeRacer.com

NEMA’s Frankoski & TSR Motorsports Announce Split

Newark Valley, NY: Last week, driver Jeremy Frankoski and TSR Motorsports announced that they had agreed to sever their relationship. Frankoski of Newark Valley, NY, had joined TSR at the beginning of the 2007 season driving the #63 Gaerte/Stealt h Midget in Northeastern Midget Association competition. The team was fifth in the NEMA point standings at the time of the announcement.

“I think we did an outstanding job so far this year and I am happy to have helped the team get off to such a great start in NEMA,” stated Frankoski.  “We pulled off TSR’s first NEMA podium finish by capturing a third-place finish at Stafford.”

The venture had produced five (5) top-ten and two (2) top five finishes in the first seven (7) races of the season.

“We are proud of what we had accomplished as a race team that operated on a modest budget,0 continued Frankoski, “especially among the amazing talent of the top NEMA drivers on the tour.”

The Arbitell Convenience Stores – K&N Filters sponsored entry that Jeremy had been driving was a Gaerte powered 2000 Stealth combo chassis (dirt & asphalt). Recent modifications had been made to convert the racer from a torsion bar to coil over springs.

“I appreciate all the good things that we were able to accomplish with TSR, and I am certainly disappointed that our relationship has ended in the middle of the season,” lamented Frankoski.  “I want to thank Rocky at Arbitell Convenience Stores for his support along with Joe, Steve, Matt and Dave on the crew for their excellent work on the car.”

The change left Frankoski without a ride at Monadnock Speedway last weekend and searching for alternatives to finish the season. Fellow NEMA competitor, Mike Luggelle, answered the call; giving Frankoski a ride for the evening. Unfortunate circumstances sidelined the young driver before the feature event.

Frankoski is diligently working with the highly supportive NEMA community to secure a ride for the remainder of the 2008 season.

“We will have to wait and see what happens in the near future to try and salvage the rest of the season,” sai d a cautiously optimistic Frankoski. “I am hopeful that we will be able to continue to race in NEMA this year.”

The young driver would also welcome the challenge of competing outside of Midget Racing.

“If something does not materialize in NEMA, I would be excited to pursue other alternatives in racing,” said Frankoski. “I think that I can be an asset to a team. I’m willing to learn. I’m a racer, I want to race.”

Jeremy Frankoski exploded onto the NEMA seen last year when he won his first race as a rookie at Beech Ridge in the Marine Engines sponsored #99.  He20followed that up with podium finishes at Stafford and Seekonk Speedways.  At Seekonk, he posted the fastest lap of any midget during the four races held there in 2007.  At season’s end, Frankoski was honored as the 2007 Ed Clothier Rookie-of-the-Year.
