Jeremy Frankoski Practices Supermodified For Bobby Santos at Star Classic

Sometimes it’s really fun to help out a friend, especially when that friend asks you to practice a supermodified race car for you.  The opportunity came when Bobby Santos III had a conflicting modified race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on the same day he was slotted to drive the number 32 Soule Racing Supermodified at Star Speedway in New Hampshire on Saturday.   Dan Soule and the team needed someone to practice the car before qualifying.  Santos is the team’s regular driver, and he and Jeremy are close friends.  Santos asked Jeremy to help him out, while Jeremy was watching Santos race in the NASCAR Modifieds at  NHMS.  Star Speedway is just up the road from NHMS, and Jeremy grabbed his suit and helmet, and headed to Star.

“It was a privilege to practice the car for Dan Soule and Bobby Santos III. Soule Racing has a lot of history in Supermodifieds and their equipment is always top notch! They are also a hard working and fun team to be around. I can’t thank Danny and Bobby enough for giving me the opportunity.” Stated Jeremy.

The second session in the car Jeremy was right on pace and the car handled great. Jeremy turned an 11.1 second lap, and was one of the fastest cars in practice. This was Jeremy’s first time ever in a supermodified race car.

When Bobby arrived at Star Speedway the car was set for him to qualify. Bobby and the team qualified 5th fastest out of 35 cars. They started in the 12th position and finished 8th after having to pit and make his way back through the highly competitive field.

“I was glad to help out a friend, but really it was a blast to get into a supermodified!” Says Jeremy. ” I’d love to get an opportunity to drive one again for an entire race.  I am definitely going to check out some possibilities to drive a super again, and I want to let the supermodified teams out there that I am looking if they ever need a driver.”

Jeremy is currently racing in the NEMA Midget Series, and many of the NEMA and ISMA Supermodifed events run combined shows.
