Stafford Announcer Deane Mercier Passes at 62
Deane C. Mercier, 62, of Norwalk, died Monday (October 6, 2008), at his home. Deane was born in Norwalk September 24, 1946, son of the late Donald M. and Muriel Kucher Mercier.
He was a graduate of Brien McMahon High School and had been a radio broadcaster for WICC and WEBE. He was also a race announcer for the Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford.
Deane is survived by his aunt Beverly Peterson, uncle Leonard Kucher, cousins Jonathan Mercier, David Mercier, Carol Wenz, and many other cousins.
Services will be held Friday, October 10, 7 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Deane’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. until services begin. Interment will be private.
