Seekonk Notes

Jeff Zuidema was among the drivers gathered for practice at Seekonk Speedway on Friday.  The accomplished North Brookfield, MA driver is a former Outlaw Pro champion at Monadnock Speedway.  This season he captured the Late Model championship at Thompson Speedway.

A Monadnock regular, Zuidema brought his #42 car to the Seekonk Speedway for its annual visit to the Action Track of the East.  Seekonk fans may see Zuidema more often in 2009, depending on how often the Pro Stocks are scheduled at the Winchester, NH oval known as “Mad Dog”.

If the rumors of Modifieds and Pro Stocks running alternating weeks next season come to fruition at Monadnock, Zuidema said Seekonk is an option for next season and his team. Zuidema hasn’t run a full year at Seekonk since 1990.

This weekend’s season finale, the D. Anthony Venditti Fall Classic features two-days of racing at the historic Route 6 1/3 mile oval.  Saturday is qualifying day for all classes, plus 25-lap features for the NEMA Lites, Pure Stocks, SYRA 750 and 600 divisions.  Sunday will focus on extra-distance races including Pro Stocks (100 laps), Late Models (50 laps), Seekonk Sport Trucks (30 laps) and Street Stocks (30 laps).

Two touring divisons will also be on-hand: True Value Modified Racing Series (100 laps) and the NorthEastern Midget Association (NEMA) Midgets will go 25 circuits.
