Debra Jordan Passes Away at 51
PLAINFIELD – Debra L. Jordan, 51 of Plainfield, passed away Sunday Jan. 25, 2009 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Patrick M. Jordan, to whom she had been married for 25 years. She was born in Norwich, CT on December 23, 1957 the daughter of Stephen and Barbara Kostyk. Debra touched so many lives while fighting for workers rights as a union organizer and Secretary Treasurer for Local 217, UNITE HERE for over 15 years.
Debra most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially caring for her grandson, Lucien Dube, for whom she shared a special bond. She was an avid race fan, and especially loved watching her son Timothy compete in the family supported racecar. She always looked forward to her annual summer getaway with her “girls” in Cape Cod.
In addition to her husband and parents she will always be lovingly remembered by her children, Eric Dube, Tim, Lauren and Lindsay Jordan. Her sister Nancy Kostyk, her aunt Linda Novotny, and her mother and father in law Ronald and Evelyn Fox also survive her. She also has gained 3 additional sons Ryan Curran, Christopher Gagne, Christopher Pasteryak, and a daughter Lauren Douglas.
Calling Hours will be held at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home in Griswold, Connecticut on Tuesday, January 27 at 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Plainfield on Wednesday, January 28 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Special Olympics of Connecticut.
