Bosch Spark Plugs Renews Stafford SK Light Modified Contingency Sponsorship

Stafford Springs, CT — The Robert Bosch Company, and their line of Bosch Platinum IR Fusion Spark Plugs, will return to Stafford Motor Speedway’s SK Light division as a contingency sponsor for a fourth consecutive season. Bosch Platinum IR Fusion Spark Plugs will continue their sponsorship bonus of $50 to the top-3 finishers from each SK Light Modified feature race during the 2009 season. With 23 races on the 2009 schedule, Bosch will contribute $3,450 in contingency money for SK Light competitors.

Bosch will once again provide an additional $250 bonus to the top-three finishers in the 2009 SK Light Modified points standings. The bonus will be paid out in $50 increments during the first five events of the 2010 season. Last year’s top-3 SK Light finishers, Joe Allegro, Jr., Chris Matthews, and Mark Bakaj, are all moving up to the SK Modified® division, where the weekly $50 bonus from Bosch will be sure to come in handy. Fans will also see Bosch each week in Stafford’s Bosch Platinum IR Fusion Autograph Alley as selected drivers will be signing autographs every Friday night throughout the 2009 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season.

Over the last three seasons, Bosch has contributed $10,500 in regular and post-season contingency awards to SK Light Modified competitors. Bosch’s 2009 total of $4,200 in regular and post-season contributions will bring their 4-year total to nearly $15,000 in bonus money.

“We’re happy to have Bosch Spark Plugs as part of our contingency program for another season,” said Mark Arute, Stafford COO/GM. “Bosch Spark Plugs has been a great benefactor to our SK Light Modified competitors over the past three seasons. Their sponsorship is definitely the most unique program we have in our contingency program in that they offer bonuses to the top-3 finishers of each feature as well as offer a bonus to the top-3 finishers in the points standings.”

The 2008 season was a banner year for Bosch on a national motorsports level. Bosch was in victory lane at the Daytona 500 with Ryan Newman as well as in victory lane at the Indy 500 with Scott Dixon. Bosch also helped propel Jimmie Johnson to a third consecutive Sprint Cup title as well as help Dixon clinch the Indy Racing League championship.

Bosch’s contingency sponsorship at Stafford Motor Speedway is a result of the tireless efforts of Stafford’s longest running and most influential partner, CARQUEST AUTO PARTS.
